I would hope if they move Kerfoot... that they could get more than a 3rd/5th for a guy who had 51 points.
I like the thought process you put into everything. Besides more value for Kerfoot, only critique would be Rodrigues. I think he signs for more than 2 mil unfortunately for the Leafs. Would be a nice add though

Eichel trade I don't think is bad value wise but I think it's highly unlikely.
Think you could get a bit more for both Reinhart and Risto but both destinations make a lot of sense.

I think the Flames are better off holding onto Monahan for now. His value is at an all time low right now, I think there is a chance for him to bounce back. I'm curious how much of the season his hip was bothering him since he elected for surgery recently. I think Gaudreau is the one to go due to his contract almost up.

Patrick for Mittelstadst is the only trade here that actually benefits Buffalo. Good luck getting Philly to agree to that though

Interesting concept, I like it.
One guy I used to be really high on was Taylor Raddysh; not sure if he has what it takes to make it anymore but would like to see him succeed!

Salvage Value Hall Staal Montour Risto Trades
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>coga16</b></div><div>That’s an awful deal for the avs, what are you talking about. Saad has been great for the avs</div></div>
I wouldn't call Saad great. He's met expectations IMO (10 P in 19 GP as of now; 7 of those points came in a 4 game span). As I said in another reply, I think putting Hall in a winning environment like the Avs he would flourish and be a clear upgrade over Saad. Cause lets face it, the Sabres have a toxic losing culture which I think is hampering his season.
Giving up a pending UFA, a 3rd and a prospect is pretty reasonable IMO. It's not like Bowers is an A+ prospect, I'd put Newhook, Barron, Kaut and Timmins ahead of him for the Avs. Not saying Bowers is bad, but I think he is expendable.

Salvage Value Hall Staal Montour Risto Trades
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>Even accepting your premise that Hall and Saad have been equally disappointing (which I don't), wouldn't it be human nature for Joe Sakic to stand pat and hope that the two players were roughly equivalent over the rest of the season? Why pay a third and a good prospect for the privilege of publicly admitting a mistake?</div></div>
I think Saad has put up what should be expected (as of now 10 P in 19 GP) but most of that came in one hot streak. Checked today, Saad has been pointless in his last 6 games. I think given the chance, why not upgrade for Hall? In a winning environment surrounded by MacKinnon/Rantanen I think Hall would flourish and be a clear upgrade over Saad. I wouldn't call it "admitting a mistake", he'd be taking an asset in Saad and upgrading it.

I agree money talks for sure, but 7 mil is probably what he deserves anyway. To go to Buffalo, they would have to overpay for him IMO. Which for Buffalo, they have a poor history for big money contracts of late (Okposo, Skinner, Erhoff, Leino for examples of recent memory)

The only thing that really stands out to me is Mikheyev on the top line over Hyman. I don't understand what salary has anything to do with forming lines "He's younger than Hyman and signed an extra year at a cheaper price". Hyman is proven to be effective with Matthews, I'm forming my lines based on the best chances of winning not for salary reasons
Robertson paired with Thornton I like, could be good mentoring for Robertson to accelerate his growth.

Hey....that Bruins package (Debrusk, Carlo, Studnicka plus whatever else they need the Bruins would give up) looks a whole lot similar to the one I posted last night which you commented on as an "insane overpayment, bruins reject 1000x over". What gives lol?

Blockbuster Eichel Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jdfitz77</b></div><div>Actually, they do have a choice
Eichel is still under contract for 6 more years after this
And it’s not like he’s gonna sit out
And it’s not like he’s gonna lose value
If the Sabres are gonna suck anyways,
then they can wait for quite a while before they’d have to consider subpar offers</div></div>
Well sure, they have a choice...but say they bomb next year again and Eichel asks for a trade, is it really wise to let that requests fester for five years?
Obviously the smart thing is to sit and wait for the right offer to come around, like Colorado did with Duchene which they got a great haul for. I think if Buffalo played their cards right (which they have a tendency not to) they could get way more than that cause Eichel's value is much higher than Duchene's. Looking back and reading everyone's feedback, I would consider this mock trade as an underpayment, but I think it's a realistic start to a package.

Blockbuster Eichel Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Terry_AkiSauce</b></div><div>I understand the Bruins are giving up a decent chunk of their supporting cast in Debrusk, Carlo and Studnickas future with the team. Don't know Beecher that well but I'm assuming he's a solid prospect that would be a middle six/bottom six guy. Giving up a late first pick isn't the worst, not the same value as an earlier pick obviously.
Eichel is, by my accounts, the 6th best center in the NHL and will probably be a top 5 player at his position for a large chunk of his career (especially if he gets traded to a better team). I really don't know how Bruins fans are saying they would decline this as he would be the best forward on the team along with Pasta (pretty much in the same tier). Berg and Krecji are old and this gives them a centre with Boston connections that'd probably retire a Bruin.
I get that its a large payment but you'd be receiving a superstar for not even a star player but role players. Bruins can develop defense and their system allows dmen to exceed defensively anyways. Although Carlo could be a 1st pairing guy on some teams, he's 2nd pairing on Boston forever cause of mcavoy. So Boston is essentually giving up a 2nd pairing defenseman, 2nd line winger, middle six center prospect, beecher (whatever hes projected, as a recent late 1st round pick), a late first and a late 2nd in 2022.</div></div>
Pretty much sums up my thoughts.
I have never had a post with so much feedback on it before. It is crazy to see the drastically different opinions saying it is either a severe overpayment or severe underpayment.

I think Pittsburgh would have to pay a team draft pick compensation to get rid of him. Such as giving up a 3/4 round pick plus Bjustad for a 7th. Ottawa shouldn't have to pay to take on a cap dump.

Interested what Guerin will do with this team
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>wabit</b></div><div>MN's "dire offense" is just fine. They were 6th in 5v5 goals and 9th in 5v4 goals.
The only work Guerin has to do is sign Kaprizov (shouldn't be difficult), get a top-6 center (not easy), and figure out the goalie situation (which has possible in-house options). The team's cap, prospect pool, wings, and d-corps are all fine heading into next season.</div></div>
I'll admit...I didn't realize Minnesota's offence did that well this year, had to look it up cause I didn't believe you. I knew Fiala and Parise had good years but beyond that I thought that had really lacked scoring from everyone else, especially after trading Zucker too. But your summary of their future I'd agree with. I think Kahkonen can step up next season as an in house option in net. Biggest need for them is a top 6 center which is never easy to acquire.

Blockbuster Eichel Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>melloni17</b></div><div>The deal would start with Pastrnak and nothing less. The Sabres don't move him for potential star players. A franchise type player would be the starting point. And they wouldn't trade him to a division rival. He isn't getting traded</div></div>
If he requests a trade in a years time cause Buffalo is a garbage organization, then they have no choice but to trade him. When players request trades it usually takes a package of picks/prospects/young roster players to acquire them.
Ideally Buffalo gets a franchise player in return but when was the last time you seen a star player traded for another star? It doesn't happen very often anymore. Off the top of my head the latest examples I can think of are the Shea Weber/PK Subban and the Seth Jones/Ryan Johnason trades.

Guerin got some work to do, I'm super excited to see how Kaprizov does in NA, he'll be good for Minnesota's dire offence. The New Jersey trade is interesting though. I'm like you I think, I've always liked Zacha probably more than others. Change of scenery could be good for him similar to Fiala.
