Kapenan is staying with the leafs sure johnsson is probably out but we have no interest in bringing those 2 guys in. Jones is a LD we want a proper top 4 RD. Second Adam Larssons contract to short. He would be up when rielly is up also the money hes paid way to high. Toronto as linked with him once but the deal never went through as Dubas is looking for a long term solution to the defense

No. Larsson is signed for one more year and honestly isn't all that great. We have no need at all for Jones we have plenty of left handed D. You're asking us to give you two thirds of a 2nd line who are both locked up for an okay #4 D and a guy we won't even use.

No, it absolutely is not. Especially if you consider Manson a long-term solution; he (or guys similar) can be had for far less than one one the big four.

I though Tavares and Nylander is your 2nd line. Where do you get 2/3's from? Jones plays mostly Right side, but ok, no problem is you dont need a good contract top 4 D and Jones. Who I am reluctant to give up as he can play top 4 minutes as well.

Dude, if you get Manson even if you keep the big four, you still have Andersen to resign (he'll ask for around 6,5 mil per for 4 years), Hyman will ask for at least 3,5 mil for 4 years, Reilly will be looking for a significant pay raise while Sandin will soon want around 4 mil... good luck... oh, and TOR has no awful contract to use the CBO on...

They really do not need Johnsson at all. Jones and a pick can work. but leafs apparently dont need any D unless its a 1st pairing D for 4 million bucks.

Exactly the leafs can go for Cernak,Weegar, Bear, Gudas, Demelo, etc. Does not have to be the most expensive defenseman. We have rielly and muzzin a young guy in Sandin, a career story in Holl who with Muzzin has been amazing. All we need is a veteran pairing for Sandin and a more defensive partner from rielly. If toronto was to trade their first pesce would probs be the target. Cheap, good defensively and overall would fit well with the leafs as that contract would fit well with them

Both Kapanen and Johnsson are playing on the 2nd line of the team you posted above; hence the 2/3's. It's cool that Jones plays right side, nothing against him, but the fact of the matter is that we lack guys who are right handed which matters in the Dzone when you are trying to break the puck out. Larsson's contract isn't all that great. The money isn't horrendous, but he has one year left, after which, he will be looking for a raise. He doesn't make sense for the Leafs as a main piece in this deal.

toronto aint worried about Anderson. They can always go for a KHL goalie like the Rangers, Lightning, Capitals did or trade for a cheaper alternative. Also u forget the cap will be increasing after this year possibly to the originally projected 84-88.2m. If anderson and hyman ask for 1 mill more thats fine we can afford that. As for Sandin wanting 4 sure hes probably gonna get 2.5-3 on his first contract cause hes a small defenseman who at times has struggled this year.

LOL the cap is not increasing this year. They lost so much revenue already, it might be decreasing. that is why i kept the cap the same as last year for this. That cap increase is out the window.

Larsson is a ok but that money for him is a big no, and if we want a young guy playing with Sandin we got a true RD in liligren. He may not be ready but hes a better option than jones for the right side of Sandin

Guys will ask for more money? I had no idea. It still doesn't mean you trade away from the top end of you're roster. You trade the guys who price themselves out and replace them with cheaper guys. That's why drafting/developing/scouting is so important.

Anderson, Hyman wont need to be resigned till 2021-2022 by then the cap would have increased especially with Seattle coming in generating more revenue for the league. As for a cap decrease it will only decrease by 1mill or stay the same.

I think in the last 36 games of this season, Larsson has been one of the best D in the league. Let me try to find the stats. If @CD282 was around, he would know
