Description
Anyone give any credibility to that "Mike Litorus" account on twitter? He broke the trade with LA perfectly, literally a few hours before it happened. He recently tweeted a big trade is coming because of a few players being very toxic in the room. He did not mention any names but based on recency, I'd have to guess its Kapanen?

Anyways, maybe the Leafs do move Kapanen before the deadline for a defence plus 3C upgrade. New Jersey just seems like the ideal trade partner for the Leafs right now, a bad/non-playoff team with pieces the Leafs need.

I dont think he would be better. Also.. what would be the point in bringing a guy in who doesnt fill your need but forces other guy to fill that need. You can literally keep Barrie if thats the case.

maybe Rielly just needs a change of scenery and hed be better at defence! I've heard that's how it works

What Rielly needs is a good puck moving d partner. That's when he was good this year when he played with Barrie. Last year he had Hainsey, who isn't a good defensive option but he's a smart puck mover. Dumba can be that guy. It wouldn't be as bad of a fit as idiots on this site always seem to think. It be worth a shot over the current defence they have

if that was the case than Tyson Barrie would have been perfect. He wasnt, Dumba wouldnt be either. Morgan needs a RHD version of Muzzin to fully succeed.

Funny that you pulled severson out of hat. He is my sleep er pick that no one is talking about.

As far as who is toxic, yup could be kappy. Process of elimination.

It isn’t the big 4, it certainly usn’t Spezza or goat. Marlies call ups are usually on best behaviour. Holl is all business and muzzin is certainly not it. Great d knows Hyman is a model NHLer.

That leaves Dermott, ceci, kappy, Johnsson and kerfoot.

I can see Kapenen being on the move, as for toxic in the room I would think less toxic and more frustrated with his role on the depth chart, the sleeping in missing practice etc all points to a kid who believes he sees no opportunity in TO to excel his career. Honestly don't see Dumba as the target I would lean more towards Severson out of NJ or if the Leafs are actually entertaining adding Lilly then Manson out of Anaheim

i know exactly what you said, hoss. You said some nonsense about a guy having a change of scenery and it being good for him in response to being told that Dumba is bad defensively and that he's always been bad defensively. So, you implied that a change of scenery would improve his defensive play. I then mocked that with you're take that Rielly needed to play better defensively. This aint rocket science, shooter.

Hainsey and smart puck mover should not be in same universe. Breaking the puck out of glass and giving it up is not smart puck mover. Rielly was **** with Barrie, what?

Dylan DeMelo is a perfect acquisition for the Leafs imo. He's good defensively, right shooting, undoubtedly an upgrade on Ceci.

No idea who that is or his credibility, but it's worth noting that Ken Holland has been very busy signing his RFA's so that he knows where he stands on the cap next year. The consensus thought in Edmonton is that Holland will be trading for a young winger with term before the deadline. Might there be a fit?

Exactly what toronto needs is a defensively reliable partner for Rielly. He is not that.

Not only do the Leafs need a reliable defensive partner for Reilly (think Hainsey of last year), Leafs need a reliable defensive partner for whoever plays with Barrie, and even Holl. Seems like that ain't going to happen in the matter of two weeks.

Trading Dermott before you know the health status of Rielly is risky. Think of how limited Gardner and Dermott were in the playoffs last year and the Leafs had no better options. I don't think you get Demelo for that **** soup of players you threw at Ottawa, they have little reason to want that return for him.

That...and what happens long term especially if Barrie is not part of the Leafs D. Long term ramifications of a Dermott trade could make the overall D worse than it already is...image that.
