That Columbus isn’t going to sell Josh Anderson.... we have no reason to. Make an offer for him at the draft, Columbus isn’t selling at the deadline.

Come on man. The sharks get three AHLers and David Backes back for Jumbo and Dillon? You must be joking

1-We'll take that IMO. Add a pick if Kreids resign tho (maybe a 2022 3rd)
2-SJ won't touch that. Add a 2 picks

Moore has a better Corsi rating than Dillion and Jumbo has 1 more goal than Backes despite doubling his minutes in triple the games.

Sharks decline, but this trade sucks for Boston too.

do a 3 way with CBJ and SJS to make it easier

you want Backes out , Anderson and Thornton in
i think you got to get CBJ to retain on Backes before sending him to SJS .
Backes at a reasonable cap would be welcome on most teams so even if they dont keep him SJS can retain up to half his original salary and move him again to a contender for a good pick . (Hainsey,Plekanen and Timmonen are returns less talented players then Backes got at points they had their lowest value in years so Backes will bring in something worth moving him )

No chance we retain on Backes. We have Dubois Gavrikov Korpisalo and Elvis coming off the books and need new deals. We just can’t afford to retain any unless it’s for like a first plus which is an extreme overpay.

Columbus has sooooo many reasons to sell Anderson. Like every possible reason.

Lmao no they don’t.... why do you sell before a playoff run? We didn’t sell Panarin and he basically told everyone he wasn’t going to stay. Was there an issue signing him last time, yes, this time there’s arbitration so there’s a hearing and he gets signed. If another team wants him enough he’s still an RFA and we get to match or take compensation from an offersheet. Selling Anderson makes no sense at the current time.

The only people who think we should sell him are the fans who want him for pennies because he has 4 points...

I'm going to assume these reasons are "I want him", "I want him", "he should play for my team", "I want him on my team", and maybe something hopeful-for-non-Jackets-fans about contentious RFA signing.

Well, I think it would be kind of naive to think that the jackets are going to get him extended with term. Him taking the 1 year deal and moving on is the likely scenario. Teams like trading for guys with a year of team control, so that gives him some added value now. Here are a few scenarios of how things play out.
1. They keep him. They make the playoffs. Get smoked in the first round. He has a bounce back season, and his value at the deadline is similar to what it is now because he’s a true rental at that point.
2. They keep him. The likely happens. They don’t make the playoffs, and he doesn’t have a bounce back year. His value is crushed.
3. They keep him. They keep him again. They lose him for nothing.

Look, the jackets aren’t good. If they keep the big picture in mind even a little bit, trading him makes a ton of sense.
