I heard some **** talk about media calling him out. He hasn’t looked on cue but who cares. He’s John fricken Tavares. Even when he’s not firing on all cylinders he is a hell of a hockey player. He is our captain and oh jeez look at that... HE HAS A FULL NMC!!!!!!!

No. Here’s why.
1. He has a full no move. He took less to go to Toronto. Doubt he’s waiving after a year.
2. Signing a guy to that deal, making him captain, and moving him...not a good look. That kind of stuff isn’t the end of the world when trying to attract free agents, but it matters.
3. He’s freaking good.
4. It’s hard to get fair value for a guy like that.
5. Did i mention he’s really freaking good?
