LA says No to the Toffoli trade, I don't know why we'd need Moore in the middle of our rebuild and a (likely) career AHLer. A second-rounder and someone like Axel Anderson, while the Kings retain half of Toffoli's salary is closer to realistic trade value.

Rangers are not taking the Backes contract with so little coming back.
And I dont see Backes waiving to a non-contender.

LA declines that in a heartbeat. They have declined better offers than that. Going to take a 2nd and decent prospect at minimum.

Backes is not waiving in season and Kreider would cost close to that without Backes. With him. Add.

Yes and no. If his value was based off that you’d be looking at a 1st and 2 other pieces. Off of last year. A 3rd. This year he’s rebounded and on pace for 22g 45pts which is pretty close to his 82g average. 2nd and prospect for that kind of production is spot on. Problem is which version shows up?

The Kreider trade might actually be close in terms of value...Ranger fans will look at the Marleau trade as setting the market for a 6M dump...but although BOS has a lot of work to do- they are not bent over a barrel as much as TOR was last year...yet they do need to do something to sign 3-4 players and a b/u goalie...with probably around 19M for next year. And adding Kreider would be another player to pay...if Boston would see Kreider as a rental- that would diminish the return going back...so lots of questions here starting with BOS intentions for Kreider.

Question I have is what would it take to include B. Smith as a passenger in this deal? would you go for Kreider + Smith in exchange for Backes+Heinen, + 2020 2nd+ 2021 3rd (cond 1st if Kreider resigns)?
