Overpayment for a guy that might walk as a UFA. Debrusk + 1st + a mid range prospect most I’d offer

As for the trade, like everyone else has said extensively, quantity does not equal quality.
You don’t get Eichal without moving a legitimate blue chip prospect / young player. Boston does not have that. There is zero trade to be made, especially since they are divisional teams.</div></div>
Who told you that they don’t have a blue chip prospect? Just curious. Scott Wheeler? If Lohrei was a 1st round pick he’d be considered a blue chip prospect. Go watch game tape of him. Look at his stats and tell me he’s not a top prospect. I’m sick of people telling me the Bruins don’t have good prospects yet the team is always top 5 in the league. I bet you didn’t think Pastrnak was a top prospect when he was drafted based on where he was picked. Lauzon although hurt now playing 1st pairing minutes. Let me guess, not a good prospect. The list goes on.

These replies man. You know someone is clueless about hockey when they don’t consider Studnicka a top prospect. I don’t know about the value of this particular trade but Studnicka is every bit a top prospect.

Ekholm
Bruins even when healthy aren’t beating Washington/Isles/TB in a 7 game series. I’m not trading a first round pick for anybody 30 years of age or older. Trade the first you better be targeting a Johnny Gaudreau.

Bruins accept this and don’t look back. Forsberg is way better than Debrusk and Ekholm is way better than Grzelcyk.

Debrusk is on trial as Bergeron's RW. The late 1st comment is silly as a contender will trade for Ekholm, therefore any first Nashville gets for him will be a late first.

Top 5 Draft Pick Here We Come
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jeuck75</b></div><div>What would be your best offer for him? Just out of curiosity, lol</div></div>
1st + Kase (skated today) or Bjork or Lauzon or Zboril or Grzelcyk
Ekholm has another year left on his deal so I don't know what the ask would be for him. I think Ekholm is better than Muzzin so I figured a similar return or better.
What would you want for Ekholm?

Deal isn't far off imo but it would have to be made this year. Get Ekholm for a 1.5 years.

Forsberg and Hjalmarsson Deadline Deals
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bcarlo25</b></div><div>I agree. It’s a weird angle to be talking up debrusk and then talking down forsberg. Why make the trade then?</div></div>
I'm talking both up. Debrusk is off to a slow start but that will turn around soon. He has played better the last few games. His hands are magic and has already proven to be a goal scorer in the NHL. Forsberg is the better player absolutely but if Nashville thinks they cannot re-sign him, adding Debrusk would make it an easier pill to swallow.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>swinny</b></div><div>Think that depends on what you see in Vladir. If his numbers translate to the NHL, he and Sarros look upnthere tending for 5-7 years, and DeBrusk is capable of being a 50 point winger.
That could be a smart hockey move.</div></div>
I agree with you.
People here don't understand that most trades aren't great player for great player. Usually a trade is a good/great player and soon to be UFA for a younger good, cost controlled player plus other assets. Most trades aren't of the Laine for Dubois caliber.

Forsberg is a heck of a player and a really good goal scorer. Your offer was low.</div></div>
Debrusk would be a good starting point. He is and will be a 20+ goal scorer for the foreseeable future.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Kotkaniemi15</b></div><div>It’s been said that Hjalmarsson wouldn’t waive his NMC out of Arizona under any circumstances.
Also, the Preds have no reason to trade Forsberg, especially if they’re just downgrading him for a small return.</div></div>
If he isn't interested in re-signing an extension after this year a player like Debrusk is a good return as a starting point.
