What the hell is that second trade? If you're trading liljegren and Roberson in the same trade it would be for a stud player who is in the NHL. Like if the Leafs decided to try to trade for Pietro (which I don't think they should do)

I'll pass on the MTL trade as a Leafs fan. I'm not convinced Romanov is better than Liljegren. To trade our best two forward prospects for what I am not sure is an upgrade? Hard pass

Listen guys just working with numbers. Last year the hurricanes took on a player for 1 season with a 6 million dollar contact for a 6th round draft pick.
So i used the same trade keeping in mind this is a younger player. So first off i have to give back your 6th rounder for the cash part off the trade.
Now lets deal with the youth side, So i will trade a 23 year old Kappy, on a 2 year deal for a 26 year old Hamilton on a 1 year deal if you retain 2.5 mil.

You're right Dougie Hamilton sucks and Leafs have the cap room next year to "take on" his awful contract for the year. A 40 point winger with 2 years is worth much more than a 65 point defenseman with only 1 year left. Carolina is just dying to get that 6th round pick back too, could be the next Datsyuk and the 1st they got with Marleau will probably only end up to be depth player anyways. Leafs can probably just have that back as well
