How are they playing? Do they have the right mix? Do they wanna save money, and push forward to the first overall pick?
any other questions?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GiggywithGibby</b></div><div>So you want Columbus to pay $25 million dollars for the right to sign Nylander to one of the biggest UFA contracts of the next decade, downgrade from Laine for Bertuzi, and the payment for all of that is a late first and a couple of prospects that pale in comparison to what Columbus already has in their pipeline?
And you know you can input retention, right? It's part of the trade, the little + symbol next to the players name let's you type in a retention dollar value.</div></div>

All of these players are the teams top paid or second paid.
Not to disrespect anyone, but players sometimes get paid, just cause they are the best player on there team.
Yet he has 2 players in matthews & marner, who have done more and have been paid more.
This is a tough contract , not sure what to do. Term or amount dont now</div></div>

at the trade deadline, i would agree. yet you guys could use a stable defensemen. plays both sides and if it doesnt work still flip at the deadline for an asset.

Dumba is a great defenceman, and great vet in the room guy. He was signed to that big contract at 23 playing with all star ryan suter. Then they traded him.
His points total dropped 50%. He was to be the man, yet his play and the teams play did to. IN 6YRS out there, he got 108pts.
Yet Morgan Rielley has never played with an all star defenceman. But still has pressed on , with who ever they give him to play with,
Still he has posted 243 pts in the same 6YR period, Thats why he got paid, Dumba is coming here to play with a friend on a fair deal and win

Just going to make 1 comment. Luke Schenn. He is 33 years old, no NHL GM has signed him to a contract higher than 1.2 mil. Since he left they flyers, lived in LA/Arizona, then BC/CALI/NY. Then Florida and back to BC. He agreed to came back here to live, Here i can settle down with my young family. I,am tired of moving, its not about money anymore.
In Toronto i can play for a great organization. Sign a contract, here i can play , sit in the press box or go to the minors, and dont need to move anymore.
He is getting the local deal.spezza, simmonds cliifford geo respect.

Blackhawks around Bedard
On December 1, 2015, Lupul was placed on injured reserve after suffering a lower body injury.[16] Lupul returned but was again injured in February, and was shut down for the season to have surgery.
He announced on September 22, 2016, he would sit out the upcoming season due to injury. He was subsequently placed on the long-term injury reserve, with the team stating he had failed his pre-season physical. In September 2017, the Leafs declared Lupul had failed his physicals at training camp before the 2017–18 season. the NHL administered a second physical by an independent doctor, which he subsequently failed and confirmed the Maple Leafs' initial claim he was unfit to play.

as far as murray goes here it is. LTIR costs us nothing. a buy costs 50% of his salary and no picks, players or prospects. so unless your gonna take the whole contact for futures or a seventh. He can rot on that island with lupal & robida.

To respond to everyone. Mussin is just a salary dump & he holds all the cards. The chicago trade was a fun one, they where willing to take Mrazek, our first & a high prospect .For fluery .
And the buy out wasn't so bad if it doesn't work out, so now you have a starter at half the cost, plus if i doesn,t work they can still buy him out at half the cost.
Then i tossed the other players we are gonna move also, but i needed some return, so Debincat & a pick was the return.
