To Chicago for Lehner: Probably like Nedeljkovic and a 2nd rounder, with the ability to turn into a first if Carolina reaches the ECF and Lehner plays like 3/4 of the games or something like that

I think Lehner follows the Zuccarello model.

2020 NYR 2nd rounder with a playoff condition to the TOR 1st. No CAR picks involved in 2020.

And 2021 CAR 2nd rounder with an extension condition to the 2021 CAR 1st.

This way Lehner essentially earns the picks. If he ends up stinking for CAR then you paid two 2nds which is a steal to pay zero 1sts for the best goalie available and for a TDL deal.

Ideally a 3rd for Frolik, but would settle for a 4th

That's very fair if you have the cap space

Issue with that is Cap space, Lehner makes 5 mil, a 2nd and a spec doesn't allow Carolina the cap

            The deal I proposed was a 2020 1st, a 2021 2nd that turns into a 1st if Hall resigns, Fleury and McGinn

Chicago could retain, maybe take someone back. I can't see us taking a guy like Reimer though because he has two years left and we'd have guys in the system who could replace Lehner when we trade him

Reimer's been great, he's not the one that would be being replaced... it would be Mrazek. Even with Chicago retaining 50%, Carolina don't have the cap space

Currently CAR has $3M in deadline cap per capfriendly. If the Hawks retain half they could fit Lehner as is.

They won't trade Mattheos because of the feelgood story, but Kuokkanen and the Buffalo 3rd?

Lol, that's not how the cap works. If he signed today...ok, but unless you have breaking news he's just conditioning and might sign later in Jan/Feb. It's a daily cap. Look it up in the FAQs.

He's conditioning in Carolina's gym, with Hurricanes equipment, lol. If he's coming back, it's to Raleigh, and Carolina are gonna leave the door open for him if he wants back in. Don't make uninformed comments please, there is nothing more annoying.

Agreed...like you not knowing how the cap works. I fully expect him to play for CAR.

Agreed...like you not knowing how the cap works. I fully expect him to play for CAR.

I know how the cap works buddy, and I know that Williams is expected to be a Carolina Hurricane by the end of the month. When I refer to uninformed comments, I mean you not knowing how blatant it is he's on his way back, and will be back before the deadline

If that were the case...you'd know it would be 100% cap compliant.... unless you're paying him millions

They won't trade Mattheos because of the feelgood story, but Kuokkanen and the Buffalo 3rd?

No, remember that the New York Rangers third is about to become a second for you.
