Marner is not the issue. Maybe his contract hurts more than it should have, but he's not the issue. If anything, he's one of the few players who could steal a game, offensively that is. He's clearly still working on his defensive game, which at least I can appreciate the effort in trying. Again, I really do not think Marner is the issue here. If you haven't noticed from watching this team lately, there seems to be such little chemistry, between defensive partners, between offensive line mates, between William Nylander and who ever is he trying to take a pass from or give a pass to, Auston Matthews, who hustles back but then does not know how to take a way a shooting lane or lift a stick. And that's just a few of the ongoing issues besides our awful special teams.
