Description
bottom 6 may be inaccurate but the numbers are solid, Marner will be signed and team will be cap compliant to start the season. means the leafs have until Dermott and Hyman are back to figure out the rest.
term may vary on Marner's deal but doubtful he will sign for much more than 11 mil

won't be able to figure it out when Hyman & Dermott will be back, as I said.

Even with this roster, you're too tight. (Liljegren will prob be down), Harpur-Holl as 3rd with Schmaltz/Marincin 7th D.

they will be very tight agreed, lol this has $2800 of cap room, but at least cap compliant to start the season. i have a feeling that TOR may have to waive some guys if they can't make any trades

You're right, but the thought of this kid making more than Kucherov or Pastrnak or MacKinnon or a bunch of other young guys I could name just sticks in my craw.

for sure, and some teams like boston and tampa were very up front with their young guys. Kucherov signed for more than stamkos becasue he was better than stamkos, pastrnak was not going to sign for more than Bergeron. it's the new age of paying, players want to cash in imediately meaning older guys going into their 30's that thought they would get the big deals later won't get them as teams will be maxed out on young guys
OldNYIfan a aimé ceci.

The problem isn't necessarily the money, it is the fact that he is turning down absurd overpayments because he is on some personal vendetta to the point that they are worried about giving Matthews the c in case it affects the negotiations. That latter point is why marner has officially lost the city and why huge swaths want him gone. He is a cancer to the room when you can't even appoint a captain because of him. Cut bait and get out when you can before it devolves into the contract equivalent of the ab situation.

People are taking what CJ said way too far. ThT was just his opinion. I think it is a smart one though. When a player is negotiating he feels disrespected and thinks he is every bit as good and sorthy as said player and you slap a big fat C on that player’s sweater it certainly doesn’t make negotiations any easier. Have to have some tact.

Marner will most likely sign a deal that works for both sides before the season starts. It won’t be a great contract but it will work. Matthews will get that C and the leafs will get on the road to victory and we can all find something new to fear/complain about.

Maybe, but when other teams stats guys (who make the contract prediction tool) are telling you to consider cutting bait, it is time to think about it.

Quite frankly. I've run out of patience. He needs to go (for a good return) or the deal needs to be at or below normal contract value.

A+ Title, but you're going to find that people who say he should be paid 15 or whatever it is now will offer enough for kapanen and a 1st. If your lucky.

That's a tad overboard, zero players on the team would call him a cancer. You may want to tone that down about 30-40%

They'll definitely be waiving a few guys, I think that might be the reason they a pile of fringe players at league minimum
