I think there’s gonna be a lot of mixed feelings on this trade but personally I think it’s fair.

Marner > Dumba
Zucker and Greenway > Hyman and mac
But marner is more of a safe bet than Dumba obviously and so he kinda evens out the other 2

Add a pick going to the wild and it’ll be even I think
Make a 2nd atleast

So my original thought was marner for Zucker and Dumba.

But the cap didn't work so I added Hyman.

But then I felt Minni had to give more back so I added Greenway.

But then I felt Toronto had to give more and Minni should get a decent d prospect so I added Mac.

To answer your question.. no he wouldnt. I think Wild should keep Zuck and Dumba. If marner could play center they should do it.

I think wild would wince at losing greenway that’s my thought.

Marner =/= Dumba and Greenway but wild like green
Zucker > Mac and Hyman

So maybe a 2nd 2020 would make it more enticing.

If they ask for anymore id offer a additional 4th 2020 but if that doesn’t do it then I’d think trade falls apart

I wish minny would do this deal but they'd be looking for another new gm the next day. Take out greenway and more realistic

The Wild would wince at losing Dumba, which is why they're not trading him. You don't trade #1 RHD on good contracts. If you did, the Leafs might have 1 on their roster.

This guy gets it. The only way the Wild consider moving Dumba is if a young franchise center is coming back 1 for 1.

If player is on level of Marner at center (Aho), they would do it. Thats it. Marner is amazing but I dont see the fit. I see the fit for Marner in Anaheim, Columbus.. maybe STL.. not in Minnesota.

I’ve thought about trades with Minny too because they can take the cap of Marner and Ferris’s ego. With Zucker being a constant piece. I tried to be realistic and with that said, I don’t see them moving Dumba even for a straight up 1-for-1 trade.

Id honestly be content with Zucker, Kaprizov, and a pick. Obviously this doesn’t address the immediate need for an RD but it does give you Zucker now and Kaprizov in 2020 to work with, plus an additional 4m cap space this year. I think what this trade really opens up is possibilities for next year. It’d leave you with roughly 18m to re-sign Dermott, add a first and second pairing RD, and a backup.

I’ll do an AGM eventually so it’s easier to visualize.

Agree 100%. Marner makes no sense for the Wild given their forwards, they need a guy like Aho or Point if they're letting Dumba go. Carolina doesn't need RHD, but maybe Tampa would be able to manage losing Point given their forward depth. Doubt they do it though, Point is really good
