Oilers decline, Zaitsev is brutal and cant move the puck, brutal contract and Brown should be in the AHL, he probably will be in AHL with Toronto's forward depth!

what do you actually know? .. Brown hasn't been sent to the AHL since he's been called up. He's a NHL player on every team in the league. & Edmonton has reported interest in Zaitsev. So you're 0 for 2. Please fact check before you post dumb comments like that.

Holl might put a gun in his mouth if he has to watch another year of Hainsey from the press box.

If Arizona has cap space, they might take Marleau but Leafs have to a sweetener like a second rounder, and receive nothing back.
Can't see the Oilers wanting Zaitsev's cap hit, though the on ice value favours the Oilers. Leafs are kinda stacked on wing, don't need AHLer Pujo. Can't see Hainsey returned and worked like rental mule if paid so cheaply.

1. Marleau is still a 30 point producer, and Arizona accepts the deal because they get a great leadership for their young core on a real-money cheap deal. The AAV is high but ARZ doesn't have cap issues so this helps them. I wouldn't be surprised if a sweetner is added like a SDA or Engvall.

2. Oilers get Zaitsev and Brown who could help their team. I wouldn't be shocked if the Leafs took on "sam gagner" contract at all. But I believe this trade is a win-win for both clubs. Jesse Pulju has a great chance to become what he was drafted to be in Toronto's system.

3. Hainsey resigning is just due to recent speculation. Also he would be 3rd pairing once Dermott returns.

Brown was of interest with Chia, now we have Holland, and all edmonton media Staples, Stauffer (works for Oilers), Lowetide and Gregor all say Oilers have no interest in Zaitsev as Larsson is a much better version of him. Why do you post on here if you dont want to here other peoples opinions?

1. I still think Benning for Brown has a lot of merit.

Roasted, the only one that got roasted was Peter Chiarelli for wanting to do that trade for a right shot d with excellent corsi. Shultz stuggled, Petry struggled and look where they are now, Benning will have the same thing happen, top four D in another system!

Unless they have a trade for another right shot/puck moving 2nd pair D, that trade is going nowhere! I can see a left shot D getting moved out for winger help!

In case you didn't know, the whole rationale with Brown is that he played with McDavid in junior. The two did exceptionally well. If I'm the Edmonton GM/coach, I do everything I can to support the best generational talent in the league. And this at the cost of... Benning! The thing is, even if that doesn't work, Brown is actually decent defensively, he plays on the PK. Not exactly Edmonton's areas of strength.

Yes I know he played only one year with McDavid, but he is now a 4th line player, can play 3rd if needed, he will be 26 years old next season and is getting up there in age, he is excellent on pk, Oilers need a guy exactly like that as our 3rd and 4th line players are week, we also need one winger to play with nuge, I would give a 4th for Brown and take him on our team anyday right now! But i certainly not play him with McDavid and 2 million bucks for a 4th line player is steep when we already have cap problems with Lucic, Sekera and Russel
