Its pretty much stupid what the guy is doing, he put another playoff series on trial.

If you are going for retaliation ( tho im against any kind of those actions and NHL sadly allows such things ), you do it subtile like DeBrusk went for knee, not openly like Kadri did. It takes brains to make it look like its the game thing and not some street brawl.....

I wouldnt break first line, it was working fine for whole year so :

I have to ask do you believe he should or should not be suspended for the crosscheck go the face?

I’m guessing it’s 1 maybe 2, but no more then that. 3-5 is too much.

That’s a horrible take. Yeah, DeBrusk was making dirty plays but you have to control your emotions too.

DeBrusk was making dirty plays and should be penalized for it and suspended. He got away with too much. I agree you gotta control your emotions, but heck, refs should be doing their job properly too. Kadri was angry because they dont whistle Debrusks ****ty plays ever, dont know why but they arent. Both players should be penalized. Without any doubt.

I understand Kadris frustration but that doesn’t mean you crosscheck someone to the head. If anything try and lay him out with a clean hit or fight him. But I agree the refs were horrible

Of course. That was stupid on Kadris part. Why not cross-check him in the kidney area.. that hurts more than stick to head from my experience. Or even sweep his legs from behind.. Marchand was getting away with it for few years, so there shouldnt be any suspension grin

I believe it was intentional. I would be massively surprised if it wasnt intentional, he sticked his leg forwards, he knew Kadri was going to move sideways to get off danger of direct hit in full speed, DeBrusk knew that and sticked his leg forwards to knee him and if it wasnt, then I would eat my words. However that was just one thing of many he did. IF it wasnt intentional he still deserves game or two suspension for his actions.

Should easily be 20 games.... the players safety department dishes out a 20 game suspension to Wilson and this would be his 6or 7 incident for Kadri 2x in 2 years targeting a guys head

Man Kadri is an idiot, but that was also a blatant knee on knee. Knee was the sole contact. Kadri has an in-person so I think it is 5+.

What i cant get is.....alarm lights about BOS subtile goonery were flashing from all sides at start of playoffs, we know thats how their team plays, whole world knew it wil get physical, they even pulled Backes in as another indicator which way they will go....and the dimwit still fall for it.....again. Dont they have some psychologists in dressing room or something. I know i would bring one in to brief with lability of some ppl in each intermission, or even sit in a row behind the bench......

Kadri had a nice Slewfoot on DeBrusk in game 1. DeBrusk was just getting even for that.

Kadri should have just fought him then. Dirty plays were going back and forth between both teams, only thing different was that it was the Bruins whole team, Kadri was basically by himself.

In the end Debrusks knew was a penalty, not suspendable. Kadris cross check, with his history and the announcement of an in person hearing means 5+

I can’t believe you just said that a cross check to the face is worse then taking out a players legs from behind..... and in all reality a crosscheck to the face is better then having the back of your head slam against the ice with nothing to slow the impact, doesn’t matter what type of helmet a player has he would be out for a few games and the player that does that on purpose should have to sit as many games as the player who got hurt. Total BS action right there.

Also love how Kadri turtled when Chara got there, he did what any sensible player would do, no one wants to fight him with that long reach.

Debrusk should have been penalized. Not suspended. Not even close to suspension worthy. Kadri, a repeat head shot artist, just cross checked a guy in the face. Ask yourself what Marchand should get if he did that. It’ll be 7ish

Boneheaded play by Kadri. He'll get dinged for a few and he should. Drop the gloves if you feel the need, the NHL allows that.... but a crosscheck to the face?

That said, the refs better find their whistles again and do their job or this series could quickly get out of hand.

Tom Sestito still plays with the Marlies, right?

It's going to be at least 5 since he was offered an in person hearing for it. That's how the league works. It was dirty yes. But if the league says that "1 player game equals 2 regular season games" then 5 is extremely harsh, even for a repeat offender. That means in the season, it's a 10 game suspension? The league is a joke and works like that. It should be 3 (or 6 "regular season games") but since he got 3 last years playoffs and a repeat offender is within 18 months, it's going to be more. It's terrible when the entire situation coulda been avoided.

Let's get this out of the way. The Bruins were the better team in the first period and skated all over the Leafs and that's where they won the game. But that officiating is the worst I've ever seen. Debrusk was running around being a goon all game and if they woulda called something on him (interference on Hyman within a couple minutes of the start, the extra rough on Kadri when they both got minors, the knee on knee which shouldn't be suspendable but is still worth a 2 minute minor, the elbow to Dermott's face) then none of this woulda happened cause the Leafs woulda been happy with Debrusk going to the box and getting the PP. The refs let this game get outta hand. They didn't call things both ways. Tavares shoulda had a clear goalie interference on Rask, wasn't called. It's a joke. The league is a joke. Kadri made his mistake and he'll get disciplined for it and have to answer for it. But will the refs? Will they have to talk to the media about it? Will they have to have someone fight them when they return to "stand up for what they did"? Will they get disciplined by the league for it? No. & that's where the problem is. The fact that the playoff rules are COMPLETLEY different from the regular season is a joke. The NHL is a joke league.

The nhl needs to do a full firing and refresh of refs. People who have no experience with the “old time hockey.” Until they brig in young new way of thinking, nothing will change.

I agree with all of this. And would only add that George Parros being in charge of Player Safety, an ex goon and a knuckle dragger who owns a line of hockey clothing called Violent Gentlemen that uses a branding line of "Make Hockey Violent Again," only confirms what a joke the league has become.

What i can't grasp is how the whole game it seemed like the refs were going to allow the Bruins to do whatever they wanted with no consequences for dirty plays but if the leafs pushed back even a little they were penalized. This has really been happening all season it's time for Babcock to go with them against the world mentality cause it very clear the NHL do not want the leafs making it past the 1st round. They handicapped them all season and now have given the bruins a blank rule book to finish the job. If Debrysk was a leaf he would have been given a 5 min major for the elbow and a 3 game suspension for the knee hit but what did he get nothing. How can a league billing themselves as a balance fair league allow refing that is that biased and not correct it. I do think other than the dirty plays the bruins were the better team last night but that doesn't excuse the dirty plays or the fact they will not but watched for them for the rest of the playoffs seeing the league thinks it was fair.
