Trade 1 Justified

Chicago rationale- well Kyle Davidson wants another 3rd round pick. He has added and paid for veterans with a bit of personality and experience like Folingo, Perry, and Dickinson. So Reaves could fit that description on an obvious lesser scale and lower impact. Plus it’s low risk as Ryan Reeves could easily pass through waivers and would only cost 200k. They lose a player they claimed off waivers and get a decent return on a depth forward. *compatible trade- Vancouvers dump of Anthony Beauvillier



Toronto reasoning- Reaves has not fit anywhere in the lineup. They need depth scoring and snarl which they add here for cheap plus they save 200k when they need every nickel and Reaves being vocal about not being injured is dealt with quickly.

Trade 2- Peeke is the cheap version of what the Leafs want. He’s 6”3 everyday. His contract sucks because of the term. But he blocks shots, hits and kills penalties. Plus the Leafs have a template of pairing Reilly with like minded D - (ie. Lyubushkin, Hunwick, Hainsey, Polak)

Columbus adds more financial flexibility and a solid prospect plus a low pick.

Okay so I think the Leafs need to keep Robertson, Knies and their pick because this team is not deep enough and we need more good well developed players. This deadline here shows we could add a bit while keeping our roster annd remaining picks intact.
