Make the call mcjesus
I think Boston takes that depending on how much money lindgren wants, either way hes on the bottom pair.

This team is pretty meh tbh
If you dont sign OEL, and give lindholm a likely salary of 7.5 million you can turn dakota joshua into stamkos or even tarasenko. Dont bother with boqvist either, kastelic will fill that spot. No need for maroon either, just an older, slower kastelic. Also do not under any circumstances fully load PP1, PP2 will get 0 points if you do that. Signing joshua to play top 6 minutes and not play on the powerplay is also just brutal, if that money goes else where you can add the goals. Dakota Joshua is not as good as you think.

Does Boston really need a big right shot dman over a winger or center like basha, chernyshov or beaudoin?

Ottawa Deal
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KennyBoi</b></div><div>Ya this trade is much more win/win for both teams.
I was under the impression there would be an extension already in place for Ullmark, justifying the initial rumor. I guess talks weren't great and OTT is banking on a good year with a taste of living in OTT to entice Ullmark in staying more.
OTT gets their proven veteran starter they wanted, but is a pending ufa. Get out of the Korpisalo contract sort of, but I don't totally think BOS saw him as a cap dump.
BOS gets a 1st rnd pick. A retained 1B that will likely see his numbers rebound in BOS, that can be flipped for more assets. And I'm high on Kastelic also, will bring a much needed big body bruiser with energy in the bottom6.</div></div>
I see this more as a win for ottawa than boston. People will see korpisalos numbers rebound in boston and immediately chalk it up to having a better team to play with and the return will be super light. The retention on korpi is actually really piss poor when you consider ullmark was moved to help clear cap and the bruins cleared a whole 1.2 million. That first round pick is also just not enticing to me, its value is super low because of how bad this years draft is. I think this 1st wouldnt even get you a 2nd in the 2025 or 2026 draft thats how light this draft is in its talent. Maybe korpi isnt a total cap dump but 3 million for 4 years of a backup is giving john moore 2.75 for 5 years to be a 7th dman or David Backes signing vibes all over again. I dont want to be negative because the points you bring up are all very good, its just hard to look at this trade in a positive light.
The best thing I can say here is I hope kastelic does well, hes like brazeau but cant score as well, so a young maroon.
If we're going based off draft range I think the bruins should select 1 of two right shot dmen ej emery or charlie elick. Big right shot dmen, dont have a lot of those in the system if any. I wish I had EP premium to see who the consolidated 25th ovr pick was.

Trade prediction no1
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jpsnow13</b></div><div>Good point. I do love Lohrei's game. Can he take top 4 minutes on a contending team, maybe not yet but probably soon indeed. That said, I don't take for granted both players would be extended long term, or a least not sure it would be agreed prior to a trade. I think it is plausible Ullmark agrees to raise his NTC for Ottawa but waits to assess the locker room for part of the next season before comiting long term. There's red flags in OTT after all.
That said, Chychurn mostly played on the right side of Chabot the last couple seasons, which is much weaker in Boston. IDK if it's because of the injuries or their consequences, but I see Chychurn way over Carlo in the top 4, who would be relegated to a bottom pairing or traded away.</div></div>
I agree that Lohrei is not quite ready to carry the heavy minutes yet however I disagree about carlo being traded or put on the third pair. Carlo had an oustanding year for the Bruins last year and most people would never know because he's defense first. Peeke was also awesome down the stretch but his play in columbus overshadows that. My issue is Lohrei needs to get the power play time and with McAvoy, Lindholm and (in this case) now chychrun, I fear he wont get that time.

After Florida likely loses half their dcore to free agency and carolina as well this is likely the best dcore in the league. You've got one of the best young dmen on your bottom pair so you better hope chychrun doesnt get an extension or Lohrei is out the door

Someones gotta convince me why signing bertuzzi is a good idea. Last free agency Boston offered him term and years and he took a 1x1 to toronto. Something tells me the Bruins wont want him back and I dont either.
If you trade for Chychrun hes playing on the top pair, It's a waste to have him on the bottom pair, same for Lohrei though, I hate the Chychrun idea all together.
Use that extra million to actually sign Swayman, he wants between 8-8.5 million but would take a cut to 7.5 very likely, 6.5 is far too low, 7.75 is pretty close for lindholm.

I feel like the bruins are shooting themseleves in the foot signing bertuzzi for 5 million to play on the third line. You remember people weren't too happy about coyle making 5.25 on the third line you think people are gonna be happy about a winger making that much. At least coyle was good 2 way. On top of that bertuzzi wants to stay in toronto and the bruins offered him a deal in FA last year and he declined. Not a fan of that and I dont think the players would b keen on bringing a guy back who just left to make...... 1 Million dollars when the bruins offered him term and money. Please for the love of the team do not bring back bertuzzi, there are better options out there for a very similar price.

Ottawa could retain salaryand add a sweetener depending on Ullmark's extension. I'm not trying to gess the fine prints, but the main building blocks make sense for me.</div></div>
I think what celtics is getting at by saying hes not a great asset for Boston is that Chychrun is likely a rental for the Bruins because of Lohrei. If the Bruins sign Chychrun it's almost like they're telling Lohrei to pack his things because hes gonna be a bottom pair dman until either the Bruins dont offer him a contract in 2025 or when he is eligible to hit free agency.
Celtics mentioned Chychrun not being a long term asset so I'm guessing that's what he means by that, the Bruins want to have Lohrei develop rather than ship him out because you cant keep hands, confidence and iq like that on the bottom pair

I've said this before and I'll say it again, Necas cannot and should not play center. If you want to discuss why he could play center go look at his extra numbers on hockey referenece and It will become glaringly obvious why he should not play center. Not to mention, and I know if said this on other posts but, coyle was one of 3 guys on the team with a faceoff percentage over 50% last season. The other two were zacha and beecher. Zacha will be on lindholms wing if he signs and coyle, no matter who the bruins get, will 100% undoubtedly be a center. Unless bergeron is giving his faceoff wizardry to necas hes going right to the second line wing. Also lohrei on the top pair and I like the A.J greer return, I don't wanna be all negative.

3 years on the bottom pairing is just kinda rough though. 3 years with sheltered minutes and then thrown into the top line roll. I feel like it would be better to ease him up into it but if the bruins don't get chychrun he's going 0-100 anyway.

The big thing for me is that roslovic is 5 years younger and hes faster. He can learn to play a better 2 way game with how Boston plays. I'm just not a fan of tarasenkos game. I know he's been an oustanding player in the past but I think he's close to retiring at this point. Playing 3rd line minutes for florida, even though its florida, is not what a previously 40 goal scorer is likely looking for. Obviously he scores more goals and the bruins do need that but if they solely needed goals I'd go for stamkos but I didn't. Stammer although is likely a good fit in Boston, I feel is too old and slow to be on a line with anyone other than poitras or debrusk. Lack of speed killed them last year. Tarasenko is in the 57th percentile in speed (make sure you switch your NHL edge stats to regular season for that) and roslovic was in the 76th percentile. I know speed isn't everything but I feel like Roslovic would do better in the bruins system as he could grow more as a player over tarasenko taking up cash as a 33-35 year old (id give him max 2 years)

I agree with just about everything, the only thing that stands out for me is sway. It is believed that he's looking for 8-8.5 on his next deal but boston has that magic to make players stay for cheaper so you might be right.

I'd rather keep ullmark and lauko if it meant we were getting a 2nd and a 3rd. This draft is terrible when it comes to how little top end talent there is. A late first this year probably wouldn't even get you a 2nd from any other draft.

My question for you after reading everything is what do you do with lohrei. It seems like you don't believe hes gonna pan out into a top pair dman and signing chychrun to a 4 year deal and having hampus lindholm locked up for 6 years tells me that lohrei will be a 3rd pairing guy until his RFA years are over. I feel like it's a waste to play him on the third pair. Do you trade him? or keep him on the third pair where he may not grow?

A realistic trade
Boston doesn't really need another defenseman. Brannstrom would play on the bottom pair. I've seen some people on here suggest sending Roby Jarventie which I would much prefer over chychrun or any other defenseman solely for the fact that they're trading for an ~nhl ready forward and not a defenseman that's gonna play bottom pair minutes
