Good trade from PHI. Is this tie EDM GM hands next season a bit? If/when season is strong for EDM and they want to trade rent player in trade deadline they maybe hesitant to move 1rnd round pick, because then PHI would get unprotected first round pick for 2026. Interesting :cool

He wanted to close to his family. He first sign in here Finland, but wanted to go Switzerland when its was closer to his family. He is loyal type of guy and have big heart. I continue following his career now in St. Louis. He has potential to be solid 2-3 two way liner. Hopefully in St. Louis he get real chance to develop and get ice time. I think CLB should have got second round pic on Tex, but ofc i am bit biaset.

Stanley Cup Finals
Here small summary of game 7 and couple hot takes for the summer.
I think both had chances to win game 7. I did listen interviews from boht side after game and season ending interviews from EDM. I believe Knoblauch say he didnt like first period a lot. I personally thought that at start of first period Florida was playin too agressive checking games and i was thinking o boy, Florida will lose this game, because i felt Edmonton will get some rush and score from it. Florida was able to find they game after Foegle did take early penalty. I never been fan of McDavid and Draisaitl, but i do appreciate McDavid more now, he did try his best to lead team to Cup. I fully understand him not going to collect Conn Smyth, he just lost game 7. McDavid didnt made any points in last two games, but he didnt cheat in defence zone. They did use only one PP unit in Finals and most of the playoffs and regular season. That i am not fan of it, i understand it was best PP, but they did got scoring from they third/fourth liners too, and could have give them some looks in PP too. McDavid and Draisaitl was tired in third period and it was first big minus for Knoblauch, he did miss play them in third period and did take Skinner out too late. McDavid didnt had fuel left in his tank when Skinner finally got pulled. You cant blame any players for that. Florida was best team in NHL when they are lead. They are build to defence. I think they havent lost any games in regular time if they lead start of third period in two year? (Maurice era) Maybe i remember that stat wrongly? Just like Edmonton was best offensive team, Florida was best defensive team and we did see the battle of opposites and this time defence did win, because they made first goal. Edmonton had they chances too, oh boy they did get close couple time.
I am happy for Florida. I was cheering them because there was playing so many finns and Ruutu my old favorite player was assist coach in there, but i wouldn be sad either if Edmonton would have won, because i fell love on they fans. They have great and loud fan base. I do believe that most of the critic towards players come from media and Edmonton haters, but sometimes players get critic from Edmonton fans too like Skinner. I did watch a lot Edmonton games when Koskinen was playing in the Edmonton and i saw how high potential Skinner had. I so so much wish him all the best. I wish who ever will be new GM of Edmonton that they continue trusting Skinner, he is future goalie in my mind. I think he can be same what Price was for Montreal and Hellebuyck is for Winnipeg. In Skinner case, its more difficult, because McDavid take most of the spotlight and team have Bouchard and Draisaitl too.
Congratulations for Florida, i am glad they was able to win. I dont think it would been fair to them to be regognized as biggest choke in history of team NA sport. I am happy for Zito too. Its look like he truly love hockey and his team. I am happy for every Florida players, staff and fans too. Congratz!
Hot Takes to Summer for Edmonton
Try to trade Draisaitl and get couple key players back. RNH is solid and good second line center,he can product as much as Draisaitl. He is also loving to play in Edmonton and did take big discound on his current contract. Do as Florida did when they did trade Huberdeau. Maybe Edmonton could try to trade Draisaitl to Ottawa for Brady Tkachuk and Sanderson? Is Ottawa ready to give Sanderson tho is question mark?
Hot Takes to Summer for Florida
Do not re-sign Reinhard if its go over 8,5 milj. Do not Re-sign with Mountour if its go over 6,5Milj. Who ever playing with Barkov playing they career best years. Maybe try to tarket players like T. Terväinen, T. Bertuzzi, J. Zucker, M. Duchene, M. Domi, B. Skjei, A, Carrier, M. Dumba or C. Tanev. Maybe try to get 1-3 forward from listed and 1-2 d-man.
I will try to do small re-check to my regular season predictions and small free agent predictions in Fearless Assassins site. Its not hockey site, its mainly Wolfenstein Enemy Territory gaming clan. I have major health problems and heat causing me exta problems, so i cant promise anything. If you are interested to read my "hockey news and predictions" You can do it in Fearless Assassins site, because this site will be closed soon, or i would have continued posting these in here too. I hope that someone has enjoyed to read these and i can bring little bit happiness to someone when he read these. I have strong opinions as everyone who have big passion towards hockey, but i do not want to be disrespectful towards any teams or fans. As every fan, i am also biased when writing/talking on my favorite players.
Thank you and have nice summer everyone!

JR collecting his people again in VAN since he got there, and he's always been good to them. He knows he won't get treated bad there.
JR will be up front and honest with him and he won't be looking over his shoulder.</div></div>
So Boudreau wasnt JR people then?

Sens last 4 years hang goalies out to dry. They leave, they have better stats. Green better do something or Ullmark is getting a sub 900 sv. I wanted to see what korpi could do with better team play, and I'll get to see it on Boston. 910 sv% for korpi incoming lol</div></div>
Yes this, iagree. Its easy to blame goalies when you lose. Is it easier to be motivated and give 110% behind Stanley Contendor, who defence and make sacrificial blocks, than playing behind team who is losing more than winning, or who dont play great defensive play. If you first mantra is to win games with offence, you shouldnt blame goalies if they give more goals. Ottawa has potential team in they hands, let see if new coach get them to defence bit better. Now Ottawa have Vezina winner in net. I hope we can see Sens in playoffs next year. I do believe Korpi can play strong in Boston, but he had been up and down goalie whole career, but mainly played that time behind poorly defensive teams. Lets see, Korpi still have high potential in my mind.

Stanley Cup Finals
Here come summery of serie and my prediction for game seven. Note. I do write more on mental things, because i am huge believer on those. I am not tactical nerd, but i like to watch interviews and learn mental effects on games.
Games 1-6
Finals been epic. Today we see game seven and winner takes it all. Many was ready to count Edmonton out even before puck dropp in game one. Most of us non-Edmonton fans was talking about sweep before game 4. I watched all six games, i do think its fair serie to be 3-3. First game Edmonton was better, but Bob stole that game, game 2 Florida was better and in game 3 we did see change when Florida was stronger in first half of the game and then Edmonton did take lead of game and serie, even that they lost game 3. Edmonton was better in game 4 and we was thinking, did Florida lose to win it in home. In game 5 Edmonton was stronger, even that Florida had they moments, but team which prodect lead, is usually giving more chances than team which try to tie game. Game 6 was bad game from Florida and Edmonton was strong.
I think, no matter which team win, McDavid should win Conn Smyth. He has been best player so.
There is still game left, but look like Skinner is outplaying Bobrovsky after all. In my prediction, i did gave minor advange to Skinner. He has been very good in must win situations, when Bob stats on those havent been great. Edmonton had they adversitys in Vancouver serie, where Skinner was searching his game and some Dallas games they was in difficulties too. Florida did beat great teams in run to playoffs, but they didnt need to see big adversitys. I do believe its better to see difficulties in run to Cup than in Stanley Cup finals.
Why Florida lost 3-0 lead
I did see a lot red flags, when Maurice was basicly joking after loses and was saying he like they game. Players didnt show any killer mentalitety, they was just happy to be in situation where they are ”having one, two or three match points”. Now those are all gone, and still they dont look team who have killer mentalitety. Players are still too casual in interviews, they just talk about how its dream to play in Stanley Cup final game 7. Dream should be to win Cup. Florida basicly havent made any line changes and Maurice been happy on game, even that Florida been in difficulties. Tkachuk, Reinhard, Verheage and Montour lacking of score has cost them games.
Florida win if:
Now Florida have to recongnise feeling of shame what it will be if they lose, they have to fight to not be team who everyone know as ”choke”. They have to remember what it did feel to lose Vegas last year. Barkov, Tkachuk, Reinhard, Verheage, Montour, Forsling and Bobrovsky have to play they best game of they year. Third line what was one of strongest two-way lines in earlier have to find they game back. Bobrovsky have to show mental strongest, he was strugling in last games, even that you couldnt put any goals to his fault, he was dropping a lot pucks front of him and didnt always track puck. I see Skinner had upperhand on Bobrovsky so far. Florida might have to play dirty game and get a lot stops on game to kill Edmonton momentum. Make it huge defence baddle and not doing any mistakes. Make it ”bit poor final.”(to kill Edmonton momentum) Those are keys what might help Florida to win Cup.
Edmonton why they was able to tie serie to 3-3?
Knoblauch has been stronger coach so far, he has made key changes to lineups in finals and through playoffs, like putting Skinner back to net in Vancouver serie. Players had hunger, they didnt want to be team which been swept. McDavid been they leader. They did recognise how bad it will be if they would be swept. Skinner has been very strong in Stanley Cup finals, when Bob have .888save% and Skinner have .909% and 2.38GA in these Finals. Bob career Stanley Cup finals stats are not great .867% and 3.76 4-7 record from two seasons. Skinner has made many key saves in key time. Havent lose any game 4, 5, 6 or 7 in these playoffs. McDavid has beat Barkov. McDavid also been very strong in defence zone and team got more scoring from they depth player. I been crying Edmonton to not use McDavid and Draisaitl in PK for years, because you could use them more in even strengh and it would give other players more gametime. What would make them feel more as part of the team. That also been one of key reasons why PK been so good, and its nothing away from McDavid and Draisaitl. I see PK having bigger impact on this serie than they PP, whats been good too.
Edmonton win if:
I do think that if they score first goal and second, it might be too much for Florida to come back. If Florida score first, i do think that Edmonton can get more motivation, than what Florid could get. I mean. If Edmonton score first, what would Florida coach or captain say in intermission if game is 1-0 or 2-0 for Edmonton? For Edmonton being down 1-0 or 2-0 would be just part of the great story what they might write if they come back and win it. Right? Not letting momentum go too high. I believe its key them to be patiance. They havent been in situation where they had to play 0-0 for long times yet. They havent play games where you dont have almost any scoring chances(in tie situation). Edmonton has been playing good defence game, but they cant let Florida to frustrate them if they are 0-0 situation or behind 1-0 long time. Patiance is key. I do think they have keys in they hands to win this.
In game seven, everything is possible, in game seven luck can play huge part. Lets hope game will be great and who ever wins it fair and honestly. Lets hope luck not play too big role in here. Anyway. Thank you for the season. I will update free agency and trades and will start do new NHL news ready, so i can post those before season start. Dont take what i write too seriously, i do it for fun, so hopefully you have enjoyed reading my news.
Lets enjoy last game of the season 2023-2024 whats been great season, where we did see many great stories and great hockey.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>justaBoss</b></div><div>Sucks to lose Ty, really liked him. But he didn't really have a fair shot within our team so I wish him the best.</div></div>
Fully agree. He didnt get fair shot under Depoer. Shame, because i did see a lot potential on Dellandrea. I did fear this might happen, because in Game 5 he did bring puck back to own zone and DAL did take penalty which Edmoton scored and it changed momentum. Last year he made 2 goal against Vegas and Dallas was able to force serie to game 6. Dellandrea have leader potential and i like his gamestyle a lot. I am happy that SJ got him, because San Jose have my favorite players Granlund and Kunin already, so i can continue following Dellandrea career.

(CGY/NJD) - Markström for Bahl, 2025 1st (NJD)
I do think its fair team trade. I dont think Boston wanted to trade Ullmark to NJ, team who they might have to fight on Wild card positions or see in playoffs. Markström have only one season over 920save% and one season under 2,50GA (10+games). His career numbers arent great either, reminds me a little bit on Kari Lehtonen. Difference with Lehtonen and Markström is that Markström been stronger in playoffs. I think trade is fair, NJ needed goalie and you cant get those free. CGY got first round pick. I do believe Markström will play strong season.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aadoyle</b></div><div>And its getting more proved now
FLA is just running wild and using the bully tactic to perfection on them
Dam if LAK just threw that final game probs would have had bully vs. bully again lul</div></div>
Yeah. With different kind of system where actually two best teams could play in Finals, Finals could be FLA vs NYR. Current system is not fair to all teams. How many first round LAK vs EDM or BOS vs TOR series we have seen? Some divisions are stronger and its not fair to fans to see they teams losing in round one, when they could have been in second or third round with more favorable match up. I did like old system more or system what most of EU use. 1 vs 16, or 2 vs 15 or 3 vs 14 and so on. Ofcourse travel distances in North-America is a lot longer than example in here Finland, so i understant why its not wise to use 1vs16 system, but old system what NHL did use was better in my mind.
Honestly i do think too that VGK could have won EDM, but in the end, you have to win who ever comes against you and only Stanley Cup matters. So if you lose in first round or in Stanley Cup its lose anyway and those who win, will be remembered.
Finals been great to watch. I didnt like that Draisaitl didnt got suspension and i hope, that players not take justice to they own hands try to hurt anyone. Personally i do think you can play hard, but crosschecks and hits to head should be automatic match penalties. Those can end players careers or leave them paralyzed rest of they lives. NHL should take care of they players. Players try to win Cup and they do anything for it, they play through sever injuries and if they see that injuring other players help them win Cup, there will be always guys who are ready to use that leverage. Luckily Barkov should be able to play in Game 3.

An In Depth Look At Every Teams Goaltending Situation
Thank you @borinBrian for great goalie Depth topic. I did got read half of it, will continue read it to end later, but i enjoy it a lot. My biggest idol has been Antero Niittymäki, so i always been following goalies extra closely. Goalie is my favorite spot to follow. Jake Oettinger is first goalie since Antero Niittymäki who i really liked. Yes it take long to find next idol from goalie spot. I was Wild fan, when Koivu was playing in there and i did like Niklas Bäckström a lot too. I did follow Mikko Koskinen too and Pekka Rinne in his last playing years, but non i could call as favorite player or idol. I just liked to follow they game. Ofc i am biased too, but i see Oettinger being one of best goalies in NHL and i hope he can win Vezina some year. This year was probably hardest year for him in NHL, but i think you have to play bad before you can play great. So i wait some bouch back year too, but he was strong in playoffs.
Skinner, i do see high potential on him too, as long as he work with mental side, thats his biggest weaknest, but playing in Edmonton or Canada market, can be hard for goalie. It take bit time from Price too, if Skinner can win Edmonton fans behind him, it would give him boost what he need to shine.
Saros trade to Edmonton is brave prediction, i understand when ppls see Askarov in the system and saw what Tampa done with Vasy its easy to try same with Askarov. NSH is usually loyal to they players and Saros did take huge pay cut in last contract, i do think he will stay. I think they should give Askarov look at NHL before trading Saros or Askarov (in future) It would be huge risk to trade Saros, before seeing how Askarov doing in NHL. Maybe they could keep Askarov and Saros as tandem next 2-4 what could give them best tandem in price what they can pay. They could give games 50/50 in regular season and run hotter goelie in playoffs. Like Bruins did with Rask and Tim Thomas. I hope Lankinen will get chance to fight for starting role in some other team.

Stanley Cup Finals
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Rolfadinho</b></div><div>In what world did Edmonton have a more difficult road to the finals than Florida? Did they have to go through Vasy, Swayman, & Igor to get there like Florida did? Also, no way Bob is worse than Skinner.</div></div>
I mean adversitys. I didnt mean to say that FLA had easier teams to win :) I didnt see all FLA (Full)games from first two round, didnt watch EDM full games from first round, but against Vancouver they was closes to get eliminated. Edmonton had they difficult periods against Vancouver and they had to fix(make modifications) to they game style. Dallas serie was huge momentum changes from both side, both team did lose 2-0 leads in games. Florida did win games more with they "basic game", they been so good and strong. In games what i saw, FLA didnt never look that they was totally outplayed and slow, what Edmonton did look sometimes. Florida never had to push panic button, Edmonton had to do it(Skinner and Nurse). That i mean when i say Edmonton had "harder" route to Finals. It can be good thing to have those difficulties before Finals, if you dont have them, are you able to do changes and fixes to tactics etc...? We dont know, so i see thats potential risk for Florida. So thats i mean when i say Edmonton been more as momentum team. Stanley Cup playoffs are full of surprises because hot goalie and momentum can lead team to long run.
Bob is Vezina finalist and Skinner after third Vancouver game had worst career playoff GA% and SV% from past 15 year or so? I know, but Bob playoff stats was bad too before last season when he found his confident. Skinner won all games in must win situation (2 vs VAN) this year and won every eliminination games (LAK, DAL). He had adversitys and got huge amount of critic, but look like he has momentum now when he has won last three game with good records. I am huge believer on ice time management, cap management and momentum, for having those, you can win teams who looks better in paper. Maybe i am wrong with Skinner having momentum. Let see. Maybe i just over value Skinner too much, i do see his potential, can he blossom out these playoffs or later? We will see. Thanks for feedback :)

Players that would be nhl caliber without injuries
Antero Niittymäki. My biggest idol, who's career i started to follow when was playing in Finland as "junior". Was not able to follow his career when he was playing in AHL (Phantoms) Did see almost every NHL game and then followed his career in AHL and Finland. He had to end his career at age of 32 because hip injuries. He was MVP of 2006 Olympic Tournament. He was also AHL playoffs MVP when Phantoms won AHL championship in lock-out season, when many team had future NHL stars in they roster. He never got true chance to be starter in playoff team. When Flyers was Playoff team, he didnt get true chance to fight starter role against Biron. It was common that coach choose/favor one goalie and starter was playing 70+ games. He outplayed Mike Smith in Tampa Bay in 2009-2010 season and was Tampa Starter. Its still my all time favorite NHL season (2009-2010). He then signed to SJ to get chance to be starter in playoff team, but even that he outplayed Niemi in start of the season, he didnt got trust from coach McLellan who did use Niemi, even that Niemi strugled in the playoffs that year and Niittymäki was changed to goal couple time, he didnt get any playoff start that year. After several hip injuries, he had to retire after playing one season in home Turku Finland. If he would been 10 year younger and would be playing NHL now, he would get a lot more starts and games. I like current NHL more, because now days back up goalie can get more starts too, its not one guy who play 70+ games no matter if back up is better or not. I still hope that teams would use two goalie tactics more in playoffs too.

Stanley Cup Finals
Hey, i been doing NHL predictions in gaming clan where i am. This is first time when i post my "predictions" in here. I am from Finland and i have dyslexia. I never learned English in school. I did learn it from TV and internet. So please forgive my typos and errors, i do those a lot in my native language too. If you like, i can post my Team news/predictions for 2024-2025 season in here too, when i do those for clan. I think site rules forbit to add links? So i cant add Link to news what i made for this season. I had couple year break in news when i had two work and i was working crazy hours.
Anyway here. Hopefully you enjoy!
Notes from Conference finals
FLA-NYR
Did watch all the games, but had to skip some parts for games 3 and 4. I think story of the serie was Carter Verhaeghe. Barkov and Florida was able to shutdown NYR offence what was dangerous in first two round. Shesterkin was Rangers mvp in this round. Goodrow also show why he did won Cups in Tampa. He is build for Playoff hockey. Last two goal what NYR scored was 6vs5 goals. Last even strenght goals came in game 4. Laviolette didnt shuffle lines a lot, but when he did those, it didnt give boost for team. I liked how Laviolette gave small joke in his interview at game 6. That kid was behind glass in earlier games too. I always liked Laviolette as coach a lot, but ofc i dont know how he treat players and staff when cameras are off. Zibanajed did disappear and Trocheck wasnt able to score either. Kakko was healthy scratch in one game and probably will be traded in summer.
NYR TOP 3 players of the playoffs
1. I. Shesterkin (G)
2. V. Trocheck ( C )
3. C. Kreider (LW)
DAL-EDM
This serie was a lot better to watch. Ofc for me its was more interesting to watch. My wristwatch did alarm me about high pulse what was 145-155 most of games. I enjoyed this serie a lot. Edmonton was better, no questions asked. I think Oettinger did keep Dallas hope alive. So many Dallas veterans dissapeared in this serie. Benn, Duchene, Hintz, Pavelski, Seguin, Suter, Robertson all played very poorly. Seguin had one good game where he scored couple times and Robertson had hatrick in one game, but rest of time you didnt even notice they was playing. Tanev was true warrior. I started to like his game instantly, its not happened often, but he did eat puck and lost teeth and probably had broken leg, but he was still playing. Ofc i think doctors shouldnt allowe players to play, if they have to use drugs to be able to play. Players have dream to win Cup, and its doctors duty to make sure its safe to players to play and not get addicted to pain killers. Johnston will be interesting player to follow. He has huge potential and what i hear his head is in right place too.
DAL TOP 3 players of the playoffs
1. Miro Heiskanen (D)
2. Jake Oettinger (G)
3. Wyatt Johnston ( C )
Stanley Cup Finals Predictions
FLA-EDM
Florida win if:
Is Florida able to do what Dallas wasnt? Can they defence and shutdown McDavid, Draisaitl, Hyman and Bouchard? This serie will be baddle of two of world best players in they own role. McDavid is world best offensive player, and Barkov is world best two-way player. Can McDavid score a lot or is Barkov able to shutdown Edmonton stars. They both been great so far in the playoffs and in big roles why they teams are in Stanley Cup finals. Is Florida able to shutdown Edmonton as it done for Tampa, Boston and Rangers? Biggest concern and question mark is that, they won past series bit easily and havent gone through adversitys. Gustav Forsling has been great. Tkachuk havent been same powerhouse as he was last year. Maybe he has take bit easy now to avoid injuries? Will be interesting to follow his and Hyman baddles. Bobrovsky hasnt been so sharp as he was last year. I do give minor advange in goal to Edmonton, because Skinner had his strugless, but he has been strong in last couple games. Can Florida solve Edmonton PK? Florida didnt had best PP in the playoffs or regular season. For Florida its key to keep game in event strength and avoid penalties. Players probably want to play for coach Paul Maurice, he has most games coached without Stanley Cup. Can Maurice win rookie coach Knoblauch? This year Maurice did reduce Barkov ice time a lot. Maurice was able to manage ice time a lot better. That might play key role in these playoffs, because McDavid and Draisaitl did had a lot more 21+ min games in regular season and playoffs. So Florida stars should be more fresh. If serie go to game 6 or 7, team who has more legs could win Cup.
Edmonton win if:
Edmonton window to win is now. After Draisaitl and Bouchard cheep contracts end it will be a lot harder. Even that we give a lot critic to Peter Chiarelli, he made great contract to Draisaitl. I never been huge Edmonton fan, even that i did follow them and cheer them to win when Mikko Koskinen was playing in Edmonton, i always got crazy when i did see how lazy some of players was in defence zone. So this year i give a lot credit to Edmonton and they stars, they are playing good defence game and make wise choises with puck. Also i did like a lot, when they put Skinner back to net in second round. I always valued Skinner in same lvl as Swayman and Oettinger is and its shame he not get same recognasation than those two young goalies get. When you play offensive game, you will give more goals and its never easy for goalie. All goalies strugling and have bad periods, and those look a lot worse, when you already give 0,5-1 goal more per game because offensive game style. Edmonto has got more production from they bottom six too and they defence been solid. They use penalty kill specialist in PK and thats why its best PK of the playoffs. Players feel they are part of team, when they get ice time in key sitations too like PK or PP. They dont use same guys in PK and PP anymore and you can cleary see it in numbers. Players are more fresh when you have good ice time management. Canada team havent won Cup since Montreal 1993. I see Edmonton have all the tools to win it. Edmonton can won small goal games and they can win goal racings too. We cant even imagine how huge pressures McDavid and Skinner have now. Almost whole Canada is cheering them.
Prediction:
I think who came more ready to play after break win this serie. Its not easy when there is week without games and then you have to start play for Cup. Basicly you lost all the momentum and i think Edmonton did run with bigger momentum than Florida. Florida did play more as they regular game and had bit easier route to Finals. When Edmonton was more as momentum team, they did win Vancouver because momentum shifted to them and whole Dallas serie was momentum changes after momentum changes. Can Edmonton find any momentum against Florida or is Florida able to keep game ”bit lame” and not give momentum and drive to Edmonton? Florida have experience from last year and Edmonton playing with huge pressures, is those pressures too much for them? Or are they able to stole one game in Florida and then come home having that great fan base behind them and cheering them to victories? I have bit mixed up opinions, this could easily go to Florida or Edmonton. Either Florida walk through Edmonton and win 4 – 1 or Edmonton win this in game six 4-2.
FLA MVP players so far: A. Barkov and G. Forsling
EDM MVP player so far: C. McDavid and E. Bouchard
FLA Surprise players might be: E. Rodrigues and E. Luostarinen
EDM Surprise players might be: D. Holloway and S. Skinner
Offence to: Edmonton
Defence to: Florida
Goalies to: Edmonton
Overall widness: Florida
Coaches: Florida
May the best win!
Note: I am ex Wild fan, but now follow my idols and favorite players. My biggest idols has been Antero NIittymäki and Mikko Koivu, so i love to follow goalies and two-way players, instead of big stars. Now i am Big fan of Granlund, Kunin, Oettinger, Brodin, Dumba and Aho (CAR). My opinions might be strong, but i just love hockey and would like to share my opinions and passion. There isnt just one right way to play or win. Cheers!

(PIT/CAR) - Guentzel, Smith for Bunting, Koivunen, Ponomarev, Lucius, 2024 2nd (PHI), 2024 5th (CAR)
If Guentzel will re-sign or/and Carolina go and win Cup this is huge win for Carolina.
If Guentzel is just rental and Carolina not win Cup i think its fair trade.
If all teams knew Guentzel want to test FA market, it probably dropped his price a lot. Many team who was looking forward also made they deals, what probably dropped price too. Dubas was waiting too long. Guentzel injury probably dropped his value too. I dont have history data in here to comparate from last couple years from pure rentals (i have headache so sorry for being lazy and not look at trades from last couple trade deadline to comparate to this). Koivunen has done well in here Finland. Who know, maybe you got solid top 6 player on him and you didnt lose Guentzel free and he could re-sign with PIT next summer or maybe PIT was able to avoid overpaying him now. Dubas has given some big contracts in past. Ofc PIT should have got 1st round pick, because they didnt got any Carolina top 5 talents.
Ofc i watch this more on Caroline side when i voted fair trade now. I will come back to this once i see playoffs and next time i will come back after 3-5 year to see if Guentzel new contract is still good and see where is prospects what PIT got.

I am happy for Zucker. Long time Zucker fan its great to see him going to Nashville. Maybe he enjoy time in there and re-sign new contract. I also do believe Zucker can help Nashville to take playoff spot and help them in playoffs too. Price was nothing, so i voted NSH win.

What you think is there coming D-man trade too from EDM? I thought they would use they first round pick to d-man. I like that EDM was able to add Carrick in trade. That was awesome adding. Many times those fourth liners make a difference when serie go to game seven.

</div></div>
So agree with you. I didnt wait this either from Tampa. Why to help team who you could see in Stanley Cup playoffs (in this case in Finals) Maybe Tampa dont think they will be in Stanley Cup finals this year or they dont think EDM will be in there, but this is strange.

(COL/BUF) - Byram for Mittelstadt
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HockeyScotty</b></div><div>When the Avs committed long term to Devon Toews, the writing was on the wall for Byram to get moved. They put him on his off-hand side to try and increase his value and it worked.
I posted this trade as my perfect offer for the Avs to get a quality young #2 Center.
I don't see what it really does for Buffalo who are so overweight on the LHD and similiar types of players</div></div>
Yes and maybe after Colorado saw Malinski playing in NHL lvl, it made more easy to trade Byram? Ofc I seen Malinski just 23 game, but i like it him a lot. I been thinking for while, who could be that second C for Colorado and after i saw they traded Mittlestadt i think it can be perfect fit, if they can keep his salary to 5-6milj range.
I also agree on those worries that BUF just added one more LD, maybe they re-trade Byram or maybe he get use to play RD better in new system, but i agree its bit weird.
I voted fair deal.

(OTT/FLA) - Tarasenko for 2024 4th (FLA), 2025 3rd (FLA)
I understand that Tarasenko had NTC. So Ottawa GM Staois probably had to decided. 1. You try to get something on him and be happy what you got or 2. You will play hard wait to trade deadline, where you could get more or less. 3. Or just be boss and not let players run over him and lose Taresenko free.
I do believe he wanted just best for Ottawa and team got something back on guy who had NTC. Ofc its clear win for FLA and personally i feel he should have been bit hard and play bit risky, but its easy to say when i am not Senators fan.

So, it's good for the fans hopes to keep your UFAs, but does anyone really think they can get to the 2nd round?</div></div>
You never know. If Saros get hot and team stay healthy. Yes why not?
Voted yes. Good signing. Novak have potential to be regular 50-60+ player.

Vancouver Canucks signed Elias Pettersson (8 Years / $11,600,000 AAV)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aadoyle</b></div><div>I mean lets be full on honest
If Huberdeau was still doing what he was doing in FLA and Weegar continued this performance for 4-5 years it would be fine. Huberdeau's seismic drop which still is hard to pinpoint is the reason it looks bad along with FLA's Cinderella run
Cause Weegar has been one of the better defenders this year and has 15 goals rn. Hes been basically the reason its not been a seismic mistake. If Huberdeau was still 80+ point guy and Weegar was doing his thing nobody would be complaining and some would argue fair trade</div></div>
Its look bad now, but lets wait couple more year. FLA has window open now and if they bring Cup and Huberdeau will be bought out, then we can see who is winner, but for now its look like bad for Trevling. I fully understand your points tho. Ppls in here Capfriendly did vote 232vs41 win for CGY when trade was done (35 fair votes). Things can change very fast in hockey and you cant predict everything.
In my mind, Dubas was part of creating culture in Toronto where they are giving very high cap hits for they stars, so now i see that every RFA or free agent want max value when signing in Toronto. How much Shanahan had influence on those contracts stay question mark.
I like Pettersson new contract, i think he left money to table, that way you give your team more flexibility to build Stanley Cup team. I hope they can re-sign Lindholm and Hronek too. Maybe they let Myers walk? and use that extra 6 milj to re-sign Hronek and Lindholm

Great re-sign. Its always shame that team legends cant play they whole career in one team, but i am happy to see Quick found place where he enjoy to play and live. Great bounce back season from him. LAK will likely retire his number once Quick retire.

(PIT/CBJ) - Nylander, 2026 6th (PIT) for Bemström
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KSIxSKULLS</b></div><div>Still a weird condition. He still traded a 6th round pick for a guy who you now want to limit if he's actually good, and if he's good you want to scratch him so you don't give up a high draft pick.</div></div>
Maybe they didnt had cap space then? I think he was waiwers in November? So his Cap hit would been higher for Pens (Mean almost 100% of 900 000dollar). Or do PIT still need to pay full cap hit (this year) or is cap hit divided on days? I am not fully sure about rule. Second what i think is, that now they roster size stay in 48/50. So if they would taken Bemström from waiwers, they would been able to add only 1 contract more in rest of the season. Now giving Nylander they still stay in 48/50. Contract management can be important in trade deadline if you are buyer. For draft pick, i think they had to pay it, because Bemström potential is bit higher and he can see NHL time in PIT and Nylander wasnt able to see NHL time in PIT.
Sorry if my english is bit hard to read, bit difficult topic to explain with my lvl of english.
