Horrendous for the Flyers

I mean, that's not the type of return that you can expect from Philly for Allen and Pearson.....

From my understanding the Flyers are still planning to rebuild, so I don't know why they would give a first to get rid of a tank commander like Petersen.

why would the flyers do this? They give up Desnoyers who could potentially play 4c or winger in the NHL and is still young, a 1st, and their best tough player for two aging vets? All to dump a goalie who's contract is up next year?

Wow this might be the worst trade proposal I've seen yet. The Flyers aren't trading future assets for a backup goalie. Our President of hockey ops has mentioned that the teams goal is to have 3 1st round picks going into the 2024 draft. We are REBUILDING, get it through your thick skulls. We are rumored to be willing to move Walker, Laughton, Seeler and others. What part of that makes you think we would want an old ineffective winger and a goalie the Habs no longer want. You would have to give us a 1st to take those two, not the other way around.

Jake Allen sucks, he's barely an upgrade over anyone in our system. Ersson has more value half way through his rookie campaign already. We have so many goalies in the pipeline, it makes zero sense to attach a first for Cal Petersen when we don't need to move him, he's not affecting the cap to where it's hurting us. We're not even in win now mode, we're in a rebuild, you don't get rid of firsts so haphazardly like this. Thats reason number 1....
