I'd rather bring back Nino for that price point over getting Rakell
I think Bear gets less than 2.75 because he has had a very up-and-down season. Maybe something like 1x1.75, as a prove-it deal following an injury/COVID riddled season and then more money in 2023-24

The forward lines kinda seem all over the place but the roster and contracts otherwise look good.

I'd wager Trocheck is going to get a Kevin Hayes contract somewhere, and Carolina is not going to pay him that. Kotkaniemi has looked good in his top-6 time (when everyone was out with COVID), and he's still only 21. It's definitely a risk, but it's one that I'm fine with them taking

Juraj had a great olympics but we've still yet to see him on the smaller ice where he will be forced to play in really tight spaces and his reach is a little less advantageous. His skating is average at best, his power stride is pretty lacking for a big guy. From what I have seen he also tends to skate the puck into trouble areas thinking he can deke thru and often does not succeed. At the NHL level these issues are going to be even more highlighted.

He's a good player and I know fans are going ga-ga over him but I think short term expectations should be tempered. He could end up a top line star but I personally don't see it until some serious development takes place in his skating and decision making. Just my two cents. Oh yeah for sure..I don't think he's coming in right away and being a game change, he definitely needs time to develop more agree with you 100%. Cooley is more NHL ready, depends really on MTLs plans with the rebuild, are they doing a quick one or one over a few years, because if they are doing quick then I go with Cooley but a few years they can wait for slafkovsky. Nemec would be an amazing pick as well I love that kid ! If MTL doesn't win the lottery they could be picking any of those guys! Can't wait for the draft.
