Stars decline. We already have a D-man inked until 40+, we don't want another, plus we can't afford Burns anyway if we want to fill other holes like the secondary scoring issue we have.

Suter's played really well though, hasn't he? I haven't seen signs of an impending steep decline. Burns as we know is a freak of an athlete and in tip-top shape, there'll be no drop off from him. He'll be who he is for DAL and would be a perfect fit with Klingberg likely leaving and Pavelski there (at a huge discount) to tip home his shots in arguably the best shot-tip pair in NHL history.

Suter's been ok, but there's a huge risk of decline with players this old. That same applies to Burns - that tip-top shape account is nothing but conjecture. Every professional athlete should be by nature in tip-top shape.

Burns as a player is probably a good replacement, but he carries a big baggage. That contract and the age are red flags to me, and in my personal opinion DAL should be getting younger, not older.

Pass on Roy for that price and pick. Could very much offer less money with how tight Vegas is on cap. Dahlén I wouldn’t move for a 3rd unless it’s his rights after he goes back to Sweden.

Burns is still pretty good. He really hasn't shown too many signs of decline yet. I'm sure he will but I think he's got another 40 point season in the bank next season. I would keep onto Wiesblatt. We do need a scorer but I don't think TK is the guy for us. Also think we can re-sign Dahlen really cheap, so we might as well keep him as much needed depth.

Burns to DAL if he is ever dealt makes sense, and his fitness is not Conjecture at all. he is known to be one of the most physically fit guys in the league, he is 37 playing 26 min a night and is top 15 in scoring at 2.4 retained he is cap hit of 5.6 for a top 20 point producing D man, and his actual dollars next 3 years is 16.5 - 7.2 means he only costs 9.3 for the next 3 years or 3.1 actual dollars. kinda feel a team would consider it. and Dallas is near his ranch in texas, so it would be a place he would waive to go. not saying i want him to leave but an owner might be tempted and with Benn Segin Pav’s and Suter i would feel Dallas is in win now mode.

Technically yes it could make us better but there's also risks to be considered. And it hinders our ability to keep our younger guys. The amount of veterans we have is already concerning, and I personally don't want to add any.

I also doubt SJ's willingness to retain that much salary.

yea i don’t see the sharks dealing Burns. he is a huge fan favorite and it would be very bad to deal him. and your not wrong in the risk. i felt Burns would be regressing dramatically by now and have been pleasantly surprised, if whoever he plays with next year keeps him at 20-21 min, and gives him primarily offensive zone starts he should cary top 20 point producer for 2 more years. right now he is 26+ min a night and has 44% offensive zone starts and 56% defensive zone starts. which is dumb for an offensive D man.
