Patches is supposed to be ready for the trade deadline so they will need to move 2.5-3M for this to work

Unless Lehner is career ending Vegas is not making that trade. Thompson is 800k for 2 more years.

Yes. He missed all of preseason and training camp. He hasn't practiced Cassidy's new system as well.

Jarmo going big
The biggest issue with your offer is Vegas has a lot of good defense and defensive prospects. They need young forwards and you aren't getting Theodore unless you give up someone with top 6 potential.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Duggysdanglers</b></div><div>Why is he not signed yet?</div></div>
It is simple. Hague wants more money and Vegas responds with:
Tough luck we have a full roster and Korczac is looking ready.
Just waiting on Hague to cave.

Opening Night Roster
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Scooter81</b></div><div>Bro, Knights won’t sign Hague. If it was that little. He’d been signed by now.
Brisson will play. Not Amadio. He’s a full time AHL player.
Marchessault won’t play 1st line minutes.
Brossoit is injured. That’s why they traded for Hill.
Thompson will start. Not Hill. He was great.
Stephenson - Eichel - Stone
Marchessault - Karlsson - Reilly
Brisson - Roy - Kessel
Carrier - Howden - Kolesar
McNabb - Pietrangelo
Martinez - Theodore
??? - Whitecloud
Thompson - Hill</div></div>
Hague is holding out for more and Vegas is asking for less so this would be Vegas raising their ask to meet Hague if they sign this
Brisson is an AHL player this year with the potential of breaking into the roster at the end of the year or beginning of next
Marchessault is their best LW so yes he will play 1st line at some point this year.
Goalies are still up in the air. It could end up being Hutchinson.
Cassidy has made his lines obvious:
Smith-Eichel-Kessel
Marchessault-Stephenson-Stone
Amadio-Karlsson-Howden
Carrier-Roy-Kolesar
Cotter/Manninen are next up
Martinez-Pietrangelo
Mcnabb-Theodore
Hutton/Hague-Whitecloud
Thompson-Hill/Hutchinson

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Marcsnack</b></div><div>VGK has around $3M to sign him. Either he is asking for more, or Vegas is offering less. There is no way it should take this long. Apparently Elliotte Friedman said VGK has a plan.. so maybe it involves him being dealt.. who knows.</div></div>
Vegas also has 49/50 contracts signed and Hague will be 50. So unless the pens want to eat contracts this isn't possible.
As to Elliotte he just said that Vegas wasn't sitting still. He has more than once said he doesn't have any idea what is happening. Also why would Vegas move on their number when Hague is their 3rd pair and if Hague waits until the regular season he loses money. Nylander's contract was worth almost 11M when he signed so the longer Hague waits the lower his AAV will have to be to fit under the cap.

5. Yes, but he was acquired at the expense of losing Stastny, who has(had) chemistry with Pacioretty and Stone
6. He's not staying in Vegas for sure. 10M over the cap</div></div>
1. He looks really good in rookie camp and impressing anyone who watches him
2. And Haula has been not good the 3 years before that so ????
3. Martinez only missed extended time last year. You brought Patches back who will miss 3/4 of a season after missing 1/2 a season
4. fair
5. No Statsny was dropped because his contract was too high. Howden was only acquired last year
6. They also have 7M in Weber so not really 10M

Barabanec was QMJHL rookie of the year and looking great
Roy is awesome
Martinez has been key piece of their lineup since they got him
Collin Miller has not been good since they moved him
Howden has been good since they got him
Pietro is good
If it wasn't for the controversial trades on this list I thought this was a parody pointing out good things the front office has done

Answer is easy. Vegas had 49/50 contracts for the year without Hague signed and you are adding 3 roster players to their team. Not possible

What leverage? He is RFA and Vegas already has a full roster. If he doesn't sign before the season starts then he loses money and is forced to sign 1 season.

Assuming you send Thompson down and call up a league min forward to rock 13,7,2 once Hague is signed, the numbers are still the same. Patrick may start the year on LTIR but he likely doesn't stay there all year, so spending that cap space and hoping you have enough LTIR injuries to keep the wheels on the bus is a massive gamble.
Especially if you are RELYING on injuries to stay cap compliant, you should not carry a skeleton crew for the roster.</div></div>
Patrick's career is over. The MacKinnon hit made sure of that.

Vegas' return for Patches was awful but with him being hurt for 3/4 of the season keeping Patches would have hurt the Golden Knights even more. They needed his 7M to sign the majority of their UFA and RFA. I will agree they will miss his production in a vacuum where he is healthy for a full season.

Talbot to Vegas 2
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>gavinray</b></div><div>Thompson has played 20 NHL games. Talbot is a starting goaltender that Vegas is in need of. Plus his deal ends after 1 year when Lehner will return. Branny had more minutes than Whitecloud did and is still a 22 year old young Dman. I think it's pretty fair for both sides.</div></div>
Thompson is signed @ 766k for 3 years, Whitecloud is signed to a good deal for 6 years. Brannstrom only played more minutes because Whitecloud is behind Pietro and Theodore.
There is no reason for Vegas to make this trade.

Varly to Vegas

Do the Iles need to move cap space to signed all of their RFA and Kadri? If the answer is yes your return is severely reduced so you won't get a first. Most Iles fans feel it will take a 1st round, every other fan base think a 2nd or 3rd will be his return.
No team wants Varly except Vegas. Vegas can stick with what they have and use 5M to sign whoever they need without giving up picks.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Isles5513</b></div><div>Sapo was drafted about a week ago lol. Personally I don’t think he’s worth enough to consider this deal. I would look at two trades for Varly. The Kuemper deal and the Fleury deal.
As for Bailey I get what ur saying 110%. But like Kevin Kurz said in his last mailbag, if Josh Bailey was getting moved I think it would’ve happened by now.</div></div>
You like to bring up the Kuemper deal like the TDL and end of offseason are the same thing. Also yes lets look at the Fleury and Patches deals. Vegas gained noting for 7M in cap space. So NYI gaining cap space will cost them Varly's full value

Less sexy goalie options
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GiggywithGibby</b></div><div>I don't think there are that many teams looking to move a goalie. Most of the goalie trades happened earlier this season. If Vegas had pulled their head out of their ass and not pushed a limping Lehner onto the ice for multiple games down the stretch, they might have gone into the off-season knowing the needed a goalie, and been able to pick up a reasonable one year replacement. Probably could have kept patches on LTIR until the post season too.
All of this points to the fact that Vegas has no idea what is going on under their own roof.</div></div>
Almost like this is what got DeBoer fired. Most FO leave player management to the coaching staff.

Shedding cap costs a lot this offseason. Go look at every cap dump and how the return sucks. Vegas isn't as desperate as you make it seem.
