Take Byram, trade Mitchell + for immediate 2 way forward or D help.

New look D and a lot of trades
FLA laughs at that trade, and the TOR and WPG trades are really awful for the Hawks. The CAR trade is fine, although they have no desire for Forsling (they have Fleury, Bean, etc. all trying to crack that roster spot).

Swapping picks w CHI
That's going to be a big no from Chicago, sorry. Drouin is an interesting player, but not to drop from 3 to 15, particularly because Caggiula fits the Hawks very nicely.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Stan_Bowman</b></div><div>Blackhawks loose all of these in outstanding fashion.</div></div>
Anisimov is worth at most a 5th.
Raddysh is a great acquisition, and it costs us a perennial AHLer and swapping down a 4th to a 7th, and Callahan is a wash.
Tuch is a tremendous player who does all of the things we want, on an affordable contract, and we're giving up a player who may walk after college and Sikura, who hasn't been able to put it together in the NHL.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Csick123</b></div><div>Imo, its gonna take more quality to land Tuch</div></div>
Kahun's first season in the NHL was nearly identical to Tuch's rookie year, and he's only a year older. To say that Kahun, a very good 3/4D RHD prospect in Mitchell, a 22 year old 5/6D in Forsling, and a 22 y/o who put up 17G in the AHL and was snakebitten in the NHL, but still looked good, plus two mid-round picks isn't enough for Tuch is really ridiculous. I really like Tuch's game, but that's an overpayment, and if CHI offered that and I'm VGK, I take that and run.

Trading 3OA
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HabsForEver</b></div><div>Montreal isn't trading their 1st round pick for two AHL players.</div></div>
Sikura is a 22 year old with positive possession numbers who's been great in the AHL and seen limited action in the NHL. Forsling is a 5/6D - and you're just trading down from the first to a second.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChiHawks34</b></div><div>Trade a number 3 overall pick for a failed defenseman and some throw ins? Are you high?</div></div>
Hanifin is 22 and has gotten better every year he's been in the NHL. He had an xGF/GA of +9.2 taking primarily dZS this year, while logging a 52.8% CF. He also averaged 20+ minutes of ice time as a 22 year old on a very good team. Parsons is also a very good G prospect. If you think it's unbalanced, you could throw in a higher pick from CGY to balance (2nd Rd?).
Sure, Hanifin isn't Heiskanen or Dahlin, but he's a 3/4 NHL defenseman who still has the ceiling of a 1/2, and he makes the Hawks much better next year than any pick does. Unless you think you're trading for a Werenski/McAvoy, etc., I'm not sure where you get more value than that.
I'm not necessarily advocating trading that pick (I prefer taking Byram or Cozens, and trading away certain prospects), but I'm using AGM to explore options.

Blackhawks 19-20 Keeping Pick 3
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>You have Gustafsson, Jokiharju, Krys and Beaudin in the system on the left side (and Murphy and Boqvist on the right), with Keith and Seabrook to mentor them, and you're going to take another LhD with the third overall pick?!?!? I would have thought that Podkolzin was a perfect linemate for Anisimov.</div></div>
Jokiharju is on the right. Gus is a UFA after 19-20, and a lot of folks don't see him being re-signed. Byram has a higher ceiling than any d prospect in our system, and he's the type of defenseman the Hawks need in the pipeline.
Podkolzin may or may not come over, and 21-22 looks like it will probably be the earliest. If we don't take Byram, I imagine it's Cozens.

CAR FLA VGK
You made our offense about equal to what it was while making our defense worse overall.
And you hurt our long term cap flexibility. The Hawks don't need Hoffman or Panarin, and if we're trading a defenseman to FLA, it's Seabrook. As charming as De Haan is, it's not worth giving up our second best defensive forward.

If the Rangers really like Podkolzin, I could see them moving #2 to the Hawks for #3OA + someone like Ian Mitchell or (Chad Krys+Kayumov).

Bringing the erie boys together trade with chi
I think a better iteration of that trade would be:
Strome + Brinksy + Sikura + Forsling for Draisatal + Klefbom + Puljujarvi.
Or something like that. A 2020 1st doesn't really help the Hawks. Losing our 2C of the future is hard, even if Drai is a better player than Brinks or Strome.

EK only works for the Hawks if we move Boq or Mitchell as part of a package for a LHD. We're already heavy on the right side.

Trocheck and Saad
Blackhawks pass very hard on that deal. Murphy is a cost controlled 3/4D and Saad is a top 6 winger who works on the PP and the PK. Gudbranson is garbage, Maata is a nice touch, but Addison doesn't really help our window. Especially with Boq/Jok/Beaudin/Mitchell in our pipeline.
If you want a more realistic trade, it would be Maatta + for Saad, and I don't know that that helps either team.

Benn isn't better than Dahlstrom.
Koekkoek is bad. Trading Saad and signing Ferland makes this team worse. Kurashev isn't an NHL center. Seabrook and Joker are better than 3/6ths of your defenders.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Petrock83</b></div><div>Enormous overpayment. Beaudin, 1 first, and a B prospect would probably do it.</div></div>
I prefer to err on the side of overpay on this site. Lindholm is a 1/2 defender on a reasonable contract for 3 years. I think that's an exceptional asset in the modern NHL.

Not enough for EDM.
The thing is, if EDM were to trade McDavid, it would be because they didn't feel they could build a team around him - Mack doesn't help that, futures do.
Think Jost + Rantanen + 1st + 1st + Makar.

Hawks in on Dzingel
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>shmoeman</b></div><div>Not close to enough</div></div>
Dzingel isn't going to fetch a potential high first with Stone, Panarin, Zucc, etc. still on the market. He's a very good player, but he's not in the same conversation as some of the other wingers on the market. OTT may try and wait it out, but they risk losing Dzingel for nothing.
I could see the Hawks considering tossing in Mitchell instead of Krys, but OTT needs to believe Mitchell would sign with them (which I doubt).

As much as I love Artemi, Stone is better for this team as constructed. We need Hossa 2.0 more than Kane 2.0. particularly with DeBrincat's emergence.

Why on earth would we sign Jordie Benn when we already have a defensive logjam? Also, Panarin is getting 7 years and at least 9.5M, and you've also made it virtually impossible to re-sign Strome and Cat with the Ferland + Panarin signings.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NickC1988</b></div><div>Fair assessment, should probably look into trading a couple of Boqvist/Mitchell/Jokiharju/Beaudin/Krys then shouldn't we? Obviously Joki and Boqvist are untouchables so it'd be down to Mitchell Beaudin and Krys. What are the hawks going to do with that many D prospects?</div></div>
I think Krys is a backup if Mitchell or Boq doesn't develop as planned, which often happens. I think Beaudin ends up taking Forsling or Dahlstrom's spot pretty quickly. The hope would be that Romanov takes the other. The ideal situation is that 3 years from now our d-core looks like - Romanov/Boqvist, Keith/Jokiharju, Beaudin/Mitchell, with one of Krys/Dahlstom/Forsling as the 7th D. This is assuming Seabs is eventually bought out or has to LTIRetire.
