Your'e probably right about that, maybe it's just me. I just don't see him being a Top 6 forward... He really needs to improve his shoot as well.. overall I don't like his game very much.

WHat i would do
I don't know... We are discussing about a guy that brings the other team a 6M contract for three more years... He has 1 point in 13 games so far this season, I mean, he is really bad. Who wants someone like Backes on his team? Yeah, good guy off the ice, but on the ice he's done (at least in the NHL).
Minnesota gives you 2 solid players on solid and not long-term contracts, we give them a good Heinen, a mediocre prospect and one of the badest contracts in the league...
Krug for Klefbom... I think the Oilers pass on this and we should not give up too much for a player like Klefbom. Btw is Krug lethal for our PP (yeah I know in the playoffs he was a shadow).

Sure? I never read anything about that. Ok, he's fragile at this point of his career, but seriously?
Btw although he sucks on the ice, I really wish nobody a serious injury that could affect even his personal life.

Halak is also doing great so far, but I don't think he can keep up the pace (as well as Campbell).
Second of all I read something Campbell is out for a while... (but I'm not sure about that). Quick is out as well for a longer period.

Well... It's entirely subjective bro...
Hjalmarsson played most of his career in Chicago, a team that won 3 cups over the last decade... Easier to be good there imo.
Niskanen is very solid and I put him over Johnson. Staal is very solid as well. One position ahead of Niskanen, nothing drammatic.
But I agree Stralman swapping places with Johnson would be better.

Kadri has the best contract in Toronto. They would be very stupid, if they trade such a valuable asset away.

Who wins this trade
The franchise D (Dahlin) is the most valuable asset in this trade in my opinion. Very difficult to get these guys, especially when they are young. Ask the Oilers (Hall-Larsson). Another thing is how much Vancouver trust in Quin Hughes and/or Olli Juolevi to build a solid D... If they don't see potential in these guys they definitely should accept the trade.
So Vancouver wins it in my opinion, but not by much.

Damn I like this team. Perfect mix of young kids and veterans. McAvoy and Dahlin on the same team... would be a bright future at the blue-line. Eichel and Mittelstadt could develop their two-way-game and leadership by learning from Bergeron. I would add Chara, he's such a great leader and professional.

WORST CONTRACTS IN THE NHL
I would change the Krejci contract with the Backes contract. Backes hurts the team more, because he doesn't deliver, Krejci isn't that bad (But yeah, a bit overpaid).
Loui Eriksson for Abdelkader in my opinion.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>Thanks for seeing my point. I don't disagree with your thought about the Leafs getting a good player back with a lesser cap as being a good option for the Leafs. But as I indicated, I think there is something more important, and that is not to give up unreasonable contracts to RFAs. (at least in the minds of Leafs management). I'm not sure if other teams really want to overpay for salary for Nylander as parachuted RFA, after all other GMS have upcoming RFAs to sign. I betcha most GMs agree with the Leafs an there approach with Nylander. Not that it isn't Nylander's to not sign any contract he doesn't like. Looking at long term comparables, 6.5m seems about right. If Nylander wants more, he just might have to sign a cheaper short term contract and then hope for a greater payday in a few years.</div></div>
Yeah I really get your point. I mean, in my opinion Nylander=Pastrnak. They have the same value and need the same contracts. ~6.5M. But in the last years I saw some overpayment contracts from "bad" franchises. I look at (and maybe Nylander as well) the Draisaitl contract (8.5M) in Edmonton. Ok he is a Center, but in my opinion he has the same value as Pastrnak/Nylander. Maybe Nylander demands something like that?!

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>"That makes the Re-signing of Matthews and Marner a bit easier." I'll disagree with that statement. So you are telling future Leaf RFAs, don't sign with the Leafs, cause you will get traded and can get a few dollars more.
It's for the the reason I just gave, IMO, there is no way the Leafs can trade Nylander. He's just going to have to go through the process of being a RFA in this league. So what if he wants 8m, he can flex his leverage when he is a UFA. Gee, why would it bother Nylander what Marner makes? If it really bothers Nylander just sign a one year deal and then next year he can compare himself to Marner.</div></div>
Thank you for your opinion. I just think with the big Tavares contract and the Matthews/Marner contracts in the next year, the Leafs have a problem. To me it seems like Marner and Matthews have a higher priority than Nylander for Toronto. I mean, i tried something with Radulov here... But getting a good, young D (like Heiskanen, Sergachev, McAvoy to name a few) would really help the Leafs. They have the "Big 4" (Tavares, Matthews, Marner, Nylander) in their offence, giving away one of them for a D seems legit. I used Radulov because he is a RW and Heiskanen seems untouchable for Dallas, and I saw a little coincidence with the Carrick deal...

It looks like he won't resign at 6.5M. He wants something like Draisaitl has and nothing like Pastrnak. Nylander doesn't want to see resigning Marner at ~9M next year, while he takes 6.5M.

Yeah i know. It's difficult but worth a discussion. And Dallas is tough with Heiskanen. If they really wanted Karlsson, he would be in Dallas and Heiskanen in Ottawa.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pharrow</b></div><div>It's not just health. Players slow as they get older. The decline happens fast in a lot of players. One season and your like yeah he's still good, next season you are like man what happened oh that's right he's 34. You could see it already last year. I know people will talk about stas, but he was clearly not the same player he was when he was younger. Age takes it's effect. All good players age out. They extend that career playing on lower lines. This is why I keep saying Boston needs to find a 1C. They can't just expect him to be there playing at a high level at 34 keeping up with 20 some players at their physical peek. It's just asking for the wheel to fall off the wagon. the legs slow, injuries happen more, wear and tear over years catches up and you can't keep up. No matter what the sport is you look at. Only the really top of the crop extend into their 30s playing at the same high level. But even they slow down. Jordan was not the same Jordan at 34 as he was at 26. You got a player like Chara here who gets away with it because he's 6'9. If he was 6'3 he'd be retired. He's just a freak at his position.
Bergy slows down this year and the team takes a step back.</div></div>
Yeah we definitely need a young Center who can play in the 1st line spot. Of course age gets all of us and I agree with all you say, I just hope that my favorite player can play at his best level. I mean, I can't imagine a Bruins team without #37.
But to get guys like MacKinnon, McDavid or Matthews you also need luck and/or at least one very bad season. I mean, most of the Atlantic division teams are rebuilding and I don't see them do better than us. But yeah.. we could have Seguin but.........

Not many players playing on top lines at that age. They got to be able to at least keep up with the McDavids and McKinnons. As that top line goes so does Boston.</div></div>
I agree 100% with you. With a healthy & competitive Bergy everything is possible, if we lose #37 we will not be in the race for the cup. But if healthy I see him doing great at least 2 more seasons.
