Hahaha. Didn't see it. Add McDavid and make the 2nd a 3rd round pick to make it more realistic.

Your absolutely right. Looking forward is always better. But to be fair I moved away Zboril and Senyshyn (two 1st round picks) and Bjork. I decided to give away the 2019 1st as well to keep it a bit more "realistic". And I did't add Kessel, because with his trade we got Seguin and Hamilton.

Play DeBrusk on the left and Schenn on the right, this seems to be pretty good. with the exception of MCAVOY ON A 3 YEAR 4.5M DEAL. WTH, hes getting over 6M if it is a 4 years or less deal, hes getting around 7 if 8. I would say a 2 year 7M deal is the fairest if you want to test him out if he can continue what he did. Backes is not waiving back to his old team nor does his old team want him back.</div></div>
I knew someone will criticise me for the McAvoy contract. He's great and I will definitely have him here long term, but the reality is, he was injured a lot in his young career and you never know... Second of all, Krug eats up the major minutes on the PP. Haven't seen much of him on the PK either. I get that 4.5 is a bit low but 7 is just too much in my opinion.
Don't know if Chara re-signs, I hope he does. Not much left of the Big Bad Bruins... I like Acciari tho.
The STL trade is fair imo. They don't get the best prospects, but they have decisions to make. More than 2M retained on Backes is not too bad for STL.

IF Bergy gets surgery
I agree with you. I would not giving up to many future assets, without Bergy we can't compete.
1) Let the kids play
2) Moving Backes
3) Disagree on Krejci. He really shines with Pasta and Marchy and shows how great he is as a playmaker with 2 good wingers. The mission would be finding a very good RW/LW for the 2nd line. DeBrusk - Krejci - XXX. Heinen and JFK could build a really competitive 3rd line tho.

It makes sense for a veteran and makes sense for a guy thats proven to be good and a good leader</div></div>
Nothing negative about Pavelski, he's great! I just don't see it happening... And last year? Yeah we went a bit crazy but we got rid of Beleskey and i think a healthy Nash would have come back this season. We were a bit unlucky on that imo.

When Bergeron is out the whole season, we don't need to focus on a deep playoff-run tbh... Without him this team is going nowhere, it would surprise me if we would pass the 1st playoff-round. Why then giving up that much for a veteran?

Maybe Trade Deadline Deal
Maybe just my opinion... but Moore was very solid so far. With a rising cap hit and a constant performance he could turn out as a real steal. Until now he was a steal in my opinion, I like him. I would not trade him away, although Lauzon and Clifton have done a good job as well.

In the nhl they’re 10 million dollar players. In your head they’re 6 or whatever. That’s fine</div></div>
I just see hockey as a team sport. We still have 650.000-1M contracts and I don't like it that one player gets more than tenfold the other gets. 4th liners can play hockey, they are not just there....
I'm good when Crosby, Ovi, McDavid and a few others get near 10M. But Kopitar making 10M, Toews 10.5M, Tavares 11M is just too much. I don't like where this goes.

What the hell? Only because some teams overpaid their top players?
Bergeron is a 7.5M to 8.5M player... a reason is because he is injured a lot and by the end of his contract 37 years old. Don't get me wrong, he is my favourite player, but only because LA is giving Kopitar 10M and Toews gets 10.5M we should not overpay him.
Pastrnak is phenomenal, but without Bergy he isn't that great. 7M-8M for him.
Marchand will be 36 by the end of his contract. 6M is awesome for the team, he loves Boston and just wants to retire as a Bruin. 7M-7.5M is his true value in my opinion.

How the contracts should be
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Propeller09</b></div><div>Hindsight is fun but you can't really play that game. Because what you didn't do was pay Bergeron, Marchand and Pastrnak the money they "should" be getting.
Krejci - The deal is fine. MAYBE a little too much, but you are way underpaying him at 6m. Statsny is the easiest comparison and Krejci has been better throughout his career. Statsny was making 7m on the equivalent contract and just resigned for 2x6.5m. Spezza is another, as well as Ryan Johansen.
It was the market value. Although I agree the term was too long for that deal, the money was right on. Krejci is currently making about 380K per point. Other guys in that range: McDavid, Johansen, Little, Neilsen, Craig smith.
You want to pay him like Turris or Brassard, but he is better. Especially when you take into account the deal was signed after he had led the playoffs in scoring twice. None of the guys mentioned have done it once.
KRUG: bad news for you. He is getting a substantial raise. 6.5+ per season. I am not a huge fan of his, but he is better than he gets credit for defensively. He is also top 10 offensively in the league. He is an elite passer and by all accounts a leader in the locker room.
RASK: Again revisionist history. He was coming of a vezina and that was the market value. Look at Rinne, Lunkqvist, fluery, Varlamov, Miller and Bobrovsky's Contracts at the time. Price as well. Everyone wants to compare him to Vasielvsky or Murray or Holtby on their 1st or bridge deals. I will grant you the cost has come seemingly down on goalies, because of Contracts like Jones and Holtby's new deal. I expect those to go back up again though. Look at the deal Helleybuck just signed after one year in the NHL. The gave him the Rinne deal, which he deserved at the time. Also for the all criticism he gets. He is the NHL leader in save %. Everyone knows his flaws, but that being said, the Bruins D has been a bit of a mess until McAvoy and Carlo showed up. Trotman, Warsofky, Morrow, Bartkowski, Mezarjos, JML to name a few. Chara has also been better the last two seasons, than he was in the previous two before that (?).
I guess with all the above nonsense - I am trying to say the $ is close. They may have overpaid by 500K on the guys you mentioned (Backes deal is bad. Would have been fine with 6m for 2-3 years, but 5 is too many).
but the reason they were able to do it was because Bergeron should be making 10M like, Kopitar and Toews. Or at the very minimum 8+ like Getzlaf.
It's also easy to forget the deals they didn't make - Boychuk - Everyone was up in arms about moving him, but can you imagine paying him 6m for three more years after this? UG. Lucic and Soderberg are two more that come to mind.</div></div>
Thank you for your comment. You really put effort in this. I guess you are right, I get your arguments. I just played around how we could look like...
I totally agree on Krejci, he resigned after a very good playoff year, but to me it's just ridiculous how he gets more than Bergeron.... The Backes contract is what it is, but without this awful deal we would have less problems resigning McAvoy, Carlo, Heinen and DeBrusk... I think at 4M at least you could try to trade him, but 6M for a 4th liner....?!
Our most important player is 33 now... We need to win at some point in the near future... Krejci is 32.... Our rivals key players are Eichel/Mittelstadt, Matthews/Marner/JT, Kuch/Stamkos/Point... Florida has a "new Bergeron" with Barkov. We probably can't compete long term, but with team friendly contracts we can build a deep team. Pasta and Marchy are good examples, but without Backes and a lower Krejci deal we could try to build a decent 3rd and 4th line as well. (Nashville for example)

Heinen is not much for highlight reel plays, but for those who enjoy the little details, he's a fun player to watch. I think Heinen could be a top 6 forward, but he needs to show consistency first. Right now he's a guy who you can move up, down, left, right and he wont hurt you. He may not drastically improve a line, but he'll help stabilize it.</div></div>
Yeah your'e definitely right about that. Just not a highlight reel player... If he signs a team-friendly contract I support keeping him, I just don't want to overpay him because he had over 40 points as a rookie...
