(MTL/COL) - Lehkonen for Barron and 2024 2nd round pick
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>UpsideDownQue</b></div><div>Lehkonen should be a great fit but Barron + 2nd is too much</div></div>
He's an RFA after this season, he could honestly be traded for a second making the deal just barron for him.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aedoran</b></div><div>You are probably right but a new ownership group from Boston buys a hockey team in Pittsburgh you have to figure they aren't there for tradition they are there to make money. I honestly don't know anything about the Fenway Group so I have no clue. If Pit was to rebuild they could get one hell of a return between Gino, Sid and Letang.

I think any of us would take the latter, but I'd think Pens would want something similar to what Avs would want for their guy.</div></div>
Do you think Makar = Crosbys value?

And how to Bruins Fans feel about that?</div></div>
I don't see either of these trades happening for several reasons. I was just curious what Crosby's value would be in a hypothetical situation and figured if the avs were going to get crosby they needed to move out kadris salary and boston could use a second line center. Obviously Kadri has negitive history with boston.

Boom
It would be hard to resign Suzuki, romanov and Caufield in the up coming years if you give Svechnikov 10mill plus hold back two on Drouin.
Also can't see Giraid getting traded unless it's a massive overpayment. He's on a super cheap team friendly deal and has stepped up when Makar got injuried.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>larter232</b></div><div>i could definitly see other teams in on him, and it is asking alot
Mayhaps the trade shifts slightly keeping engvall and instead making it
SDA Amirov and Derms and a 2nd for Forsberg,
SDA had some real good seasons with peterborough and was pretty solid with the marlies. Hed be a cheap effective center prospect for nashville.
and the leafs instead attach engvall to the arizona trade and instead of a 3rd it becomes a 4th.</div></div>
I honeslty don't know much abot SDAs development so I could't say. I think the leafs should focus on getting a skilled gritty winger for the top 6 like tyler bertuzi over someone like forsberg.

It's closer but I don't know if Toronto could out bid other teams for Forsberg. I feel like nashville would ideally want a good center prospect back as the main assest coming back and most teams would be interested in Forsberg.

Nashville trade is not appealing at all for them. They'd likely start with one of Amirov, sandin, Robertson, Lilijgren.

I think O'Connor will have a bigger role then the 13th forward since they protected him in the expansion draft. I could see him as high as the 3rd line RW.

Can't see Johnson waiving his no trade clause. He only did it for the expansion draft so the avs can protect Towes and Girad. It's not waived for a trade as of now. Really like the Makar extension!

Colorado deal wouldn't make sense. Avs don't need him and if the deal is before the expansion they'd just lose him in the draft. The team looks good but has no spare players and is over the cap. Signing Dougie would force the leafs to move out a player making money (kerfoot ideally).

Pavel Zacha
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tgasp67</b></div><div>It’s too much of a gamble to think that they can be competitive enough to keep him after next year. Smith showed that he can more or less handle the top pair so they really need a high end 2-way right defenseman and a 2nd pair shutdown LD. I don’t think that Reilly fills either of those holes and it would be better for NJ to move zacha in a package for one of the younger dmen that would be an expansion draft casualty on a deep team.</div></div>
That all makes sense. In terms of trade value, do you think the value of Rielly for Zacha and a third is fair?

Yea that and they already have smith and butcher on there left side. Feel like they would perfer a shut down type of guy for there left side, but in terms of keeping Rielly I think they can be competitive next year and convice him to stay. They also have a lot of cap to sign him.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Xqb15a</b></div><div><a href="/users/coga16" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@coga16</a> has Graves covered and is right. The Avs aren’t signing Montour. The top 4 next season is already set with Byram who was playing exceptionally before getting cheap shot by Kolesar (oh how VGK fans have selective memories). In addition Montour isn’t the type of dman they would look at if they lost Graves in XD. Also if they lost Graves AND moved on from Compher there is no way they aren’t bringing Saad back. Also the Grubauer contract seems to be either to long by a year or to much $ (I think the Avs real breaking pt with Grubauer is term a 5yr deal takes him to almost 35 and I don’t think they have any interest in having that). You’ve done a creative ACGM but there are a lot of moves that aren’t necessary when just bringing back existing players will do.</div></div>
I think Saad would want more term and money then the Avs would be willing to give him. But I agree he would be the better fit. Montour has risk but personally i think he'd fit the avs system of mobile defence and is a RHD, he's not a Graves replica at all. I was thinking Gru for 6mx5 at first but figured he would sign 7m for sure (used Binginton as a comparable, but think Gru is better and will get more AAV).

And yeah goalies can just randomly start to suck, long term goalie contracts especially for goalies in their late 20’s are going to become more rare imo. I initally had Gru at 6Mx5 but figured 7M would sign him for sure.
