Id give them both a spot, ABB in his most recent stint put up 5 in 14 and was averaging 11:20 a night, honestly not bad. I mean we gave verheghe 52 games before calling him a bust and ABB has only played 32 games total with his biggest stint only being 15 games.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JTBF81</b></div><div>It's unfortunate that because they went out and paid that ridiculous price for Jeannot, and now of course won't get rid of him because of it, that the cap wasn't there apparently for Colton and probabaly not there for Killorn. Having either Killorn or Colton moving ahead would seem to be far better than seeing Jeannot on the team.</div></div>
Agreed. The worst case scenario in my mind now is if Killorn doesn't resign, and Jeannot gets way more money than everyone is anticipating. I still am reserving judgement on Jeannot, along with other reasonable people. Yeah Julien gave up a boatload, but TJ will have a great opportunity to prove his worth this year. But yeah I wouldve much rather preferred to keep Colton. Jeannot would have been nice to get, if it wasn't for so damn much

I really wanted Brindley but at the same time do we not have enough small fowards. Some size would have been nice. My personal pick would have been heidt but I’m fine with gauthier

No. Sorry, that comment was somewhat misleading. Based on what I took from this tweet, and the fact he moved Colton, it seems infinitely more likely than before that he resigns
<div class="tweet"><blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">The Lightning pitched Alex Killorn a long-term offer at a low AAV to stay in Tampa, but it doesn’t sound like that’ll get it done. JBB doesnt trade players for picks
The Colton trade to me smacks of a Killorn return on a team friendly deal. Otherwise, this was an L for JBB and the Bolts.

Colton trade and no Killorn
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JTBF81</b></div><div>He's only middle 6 because he's been stuck on the 3rd line so far. Most of his underlying numbers indicate top 6 ability, and he should get that role now. He's a better player than Newhook(I wouldn't say far better), and like with Colorado, Tampa doesn't have to trade him and would only do so if they received a pretty good offer that met what they needed.</div></div>
Colton does have great underlying numbers that suggest he could be a top 6 guy perhaps or top 9 but he's already established as a middle 6 guy. If he can do more that's great but the expectation of him isn't going to be that. So it's going to be contenders (like TB) who would be paying high price for him. Newhook on the other hand, needs to establish himself as a top 6 player, if he can't then he's going to need to establish himself as a middle 6 or bottom pairing guy, his production would be irrelevant without being able to play defense or kill penalties and the like.
So, even if they both turn out to be in top 6 roles, they are really two different types of players with different expectations, so their perceived value is going to be based off of different factors.
Slim chance that TB trades him for futures in ny opinion unless they know they can turn those futures into something better within the offseason. He's the type of player that they would pay up to get.

Robinson would be such a good add for Tampa. I'm very loath to let him go but he's got more value to a contender than a rebuilder at this stage.

Colton out
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JTBF81</b></div><div>Broberg is a solid young dman, but that's a hefty acquisition cost for him. While I still don't believe Killorn is staying in Tampa, and the team will re-sign Colton instead, if he was traded then I'd consider going with the type of deal I've been discussing with different Pittsburgh fans on here. Tampa would get POJ+one of O'Connor/Nylander/Puustinen/Poehling for Colton+Fleury+possibly the '24 4th(depending on which secondary piece from Pittsburgh). It seems like a reasonable trade for both sides, and one where Tampa isn't giving up one of their better prospects and extra picks, in addition to Colton of course.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Boltsradynasty</b></div><div>Colton is Broberg plus. 20.6 g/82pkaying 12:15 and a proven playoff performer ok tell yourself whatever you have to to justify this utter garbage.

Playing with 3/4th liners compared to say
Tavares. 1.12
Kubalik .9
Marchand 1.16
Panerin 1.00
He may be the most underrated player on CF.</div></div>
I agree that colton is extremely underrated but I think him and broberg are worth the same, probably both worth around a 1st and a 3rd. I would rather just keep colton and try using other assets to acquire broberg who I think could have a ton of potential in our system

Colton out
The Wild have $8m in cap space and need 6 or 7 guys to fill out their roster. They can't afford to pay Colton $3.5m and run out a full roster. And Tampa's not accepting picks back for Colton in a trade anyway.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HeadHighSauce</b></div><div>Yeah man, shayna, a national analytics and fantasy writer, probably hasn’t followed the team that’s been in 3/4 most recent cup finals. Good call bud</div></div>

While the analytics may say that a 2nd rounder is a good return for Colton, this has little to do with the reality of building an actual roster. Trading Colton for a pick makes Tampa a weaker team headed into next season. They are in full blown "win now" mode. This has been discussed at nauseam on this site, but Tampa is going to make the deal that brings them the best possible NHL roster player(s) over a pick 10 times out of 10. Regardless of what Shatna's algorithms may say.

Yes. Your correct. A more accurate take would probably be "doesn't value picks in trades for players off their current NHL roster". Which could be inferred since were discussing Colton.

Yes for sure. From Pitts end they will be hard pressed to get rid of Drew as he can move up with injury and is still cost effective and young

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JTBF81</b></div><div>That is definitely much more in the range for Tampa. Interestingly enough, when I've had this discussion before with other Pittsburgh fans, some were more willing to part with O'Connor or Nylander before Puustinen. I think Tampa would be good with this though, unless another offer blew them away.</div></div>
Some Pittsburgh fans only see offensive upside and don’t know real Hockey. Drew us an excellent young Bottom 6 player. Puustinen has some flair and skill, but he’s not a regal NHL top 6 talent and he’s small. Not saying he can’t make an impact at a price, but his size and defensive game are big question marks. Drew is a perfect developmental bottom 6 and is already an NHL player

a combination of those prospects and some picks I think could get a 1st, I would trade schmidt as Thompson would get the nod before him and finley had a good year for a 20 yearold and is 6'6 so will hold a lot of value, we should prob keep huuhtanen he might be a darkhorse
