Anyone taking count of the angry Habs fans with KK takes? If so, another participant…
I heard an interview with HC RBA that said they treated last year like KK was a rookie, because he needed development. What was happening with the Habs for the first three years?
You comment on it like he’s a failure…he’s a great player coming into his own and is just 21.
What’s your take about on Slak? I hope Habs don’t stunt the growth of another top pick.

I’m a hurricanes fan from afar, so can’t take that bet. I’d rather bet cash which we can’t do on here.

I’d be willing to put money on Noesen playing more NHL games this year than Drury
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caniac2000</b></div><div>That's my point, I was referring to where he was displayed, not to where he will be. Drury is waiver exempt, but he's ready for NHL action. Noesen seems like the obvious candidate to go down. Drury looks like an NHL lock.</div></div>

There is no taxi squad, think poster was using that for demonstration purposes. Also, this is the problem? It’s pretty easy, Drury is waiver exempt according to CF so he’d go down to start in Chicago.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caniac2000</b></div><div>One problem. For who? Martinook would need someone else to go down to come up. Even with him on the Taxi Squad, there are no contract spots available for Martinook</div></div>

Hurricanes fans HELP
Others have pointed out the bigger points, but I wanted to put a high light on the two players on the Canes which could drastically outproduce where they are drafted/taken in pools; Kotkaniemi and Necas.
Both players are currently slotted in a top 6 role with Patches out. Both could underperform for sure, but seems to me to be a risk worth taking.

We could always buy out Bob
It’s a more likely outcome for Bob than letting him play out his final three years IMO…it comes with a $1.7m cap hit for the three years after his contract would be up, presumably when the cap is going up.

I wish there was a wager function on CapFriendly…I’d be willing to put a decent amount of my own money that he won’t play a single second of ice time this year (for any team).

So we do know what’s going on or we don’t? I’m confused
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caniac2000</b></div><div>No, this is wrong.
No one has confirmed Gardiner is out for the year. He's had a set back, but all 3 outlets have reported his timetable is uncertain. WRAL and N&O have said this. Anything else is wrong. They know Gardiner won't start the year, but he's still a possible retunr candidate later in the year. Hence, we don't know what's going on.</div></div>

We are very clear on what is going on with Gardiner, he had a setback and is not expected to play this year. There are three outlets in the local Raleigh area reporting the same thing.
“ No one has a clue what is going on with Gardiner. Could he be healthy? Maybe? I don't know.”

NecasBear Trade at the Deadline
I have no argument because I choose not to perpetuate this, you’ve made my point that Skjei and Chychrun are different players, and you supported it with your own Josi argument. I don’t need to say anything else.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caniac2000</b></div><div>Okay, let's have this argument. You realise Chychrun put up 40+ points and was still a net negative? There's more to this game than point scoring. It's the Josi argument. Roman Josi is a dominant offensive defenseman, but he's among the worst players in the NHL in his own end, to the point where on average he's a net 0 at best. Chychrun is of the same ilk, and Skjei last year was on a top 4 pairing in the NHL with Pesce. Chychrun has never been of that ilk and you want to compare them? You're ignoring everything that's wrong with Chychrun and trying to argue with production which A) Isn't the point of someone like Skjei and b) is completely useless for a defenseman given as it isn't their job.</div></div>

NecasBear Trade at the Deadline
You realize that in the COVID shortened year that Chychrun had 41 points in 56 games, including 18 goals correct (and finished in the Norris conversation)? That is a point total in 56 games that Skjei has never had in his career, even in full 82 game years. Making a definitive statement like this, and comparing Skjei getting a 1st is basically a moot point. I like Skjei too, but the two players in question are drastically different.
I’d keep Necas now that he’s signed for two years, I wouldn’t move him either…so we agree there. But the way you make points just isn’t convincing, it almost makes the opposite counterpoint stronger.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caniac2000</b></div><div>I wouldn't do this. Chychrun's overrated. He's never had a season as good as the season Skjei is coming off. Carolina got Skjei for a 1st straight up. If you want to move them Bear, I get that. But Necas and the picks for a defenseman that even here is number 3? I don't like this.</div></div>

Hague for Hoglander and Dermott
I’m thinking more along the lines of a trade, less a disgruntled player. Knights have a ton of $ and term invested in their blue line…
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>Gee, if it's just two disgruntled players and not about money so much.....maybe a Hague/Sandin trade makes sense. I'm on record though, you don't trade "disgruntled" players. Pretty soon all the disgruntled players on the team, think they can complain and be traded too.

Knights have close to $3m in space to sign Hague if they wanted. I think there is more to this situation than we are hearing.

No clue honestly, the Vegas situation throws everything into the air, but now that it’s clear that Patrick is out (adding to Lehner & Weber) I think there is finally cap room add in the tax differences…I’d guess a bridge in the 2.5-3.0m range.
Hague can be a top 4 guy, and Vegas has a lot of money and term tied up in the blue line. I’d be wondering if there is a trade in the works with Hague or another blue liner.
