REQUEST: filter Draft Board by "Original" column
I can currently filter by "Team" and by "Trade Included"
I would like to do "Original" and "Trade Included" so I can quickly see all of the players that were picked with picks that my team traded away
thank you

(TOR/COL) - Malgin for Hunt
Malgin couldn't score on a line with Marner and Tavares, and he wasn't on either PP or PK. Leafs are basically losing nothing, and getting a guy who might make a big hit every few games. I'm fine with it

That is the space with a full roster. I'm not saying they wouldn't need to make room, but they wouldn't need to move a $6M player, which is what gregb567 said was necessary. Also, I was quoting gregb567, not you, so I don't know why you started by saying "i know there are ways to manipulate the cap". You know that, sure, but gregb567 didn't

So they're going to A) Trade Nylander and match Marner or B) Keep Nylander, let Marner walk and get 2 1sts, a 2nd and a 3rd..
If any team proposed a trade of 2 1sts, a 2nd and a 3rd to the Leafs for Marner they wouldn't take it :tearsofjoy</div></div>
They actually have $11,165,301 in room when you put Horton on LTIR, and move all of the "excess" players to the minors. Also you can be 10% over the cap for right now.

Vancouver Canucks signed Josh Leivo (1 Year / $1,500,000 AAV)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>drewjenks</b></div><div>
<strong>Random Examples:</strong>
$700,000 = JASON SPEZZA / C
$700,000 = KEN AGOSTINO / LW
$725,000 = BRIAN GIBBONS / C
$750,000 = NICK SHORE / C
$775,000 = BRANDON PIRRI / LW
$800,000 = TYLER ENNIS / LW
$1,000,000 = BRETT RITCHIE / RW
$1,000,000 = NICK COUSINS / C</div></div>
Leivo hasn't played in the AHL since 3 seasons ago, he was just ignored by TO and scratched all the time
Spezza is 10 years older than him and could fall apart at the drop of a hat. Despite that, he likely only took the league min contract because he wants to be in TO. He may have been offered more and took a discount. He's made his money, he doesn't need to worry about that. Money is still important for Leivo
Agostino actually DID play in the AHL last year. In the NHL he had 6 goals (23 points) and Leivo had 14 goals (24 points). Goals are more expensive than assists, and Leivo shows potential to be a 20 goal scorer, Agostino does not
Gibbons is about the same as Agostino
Shore didn't play in the NHL last year, he was in the KHL
Pirri and Ennis I think are good contracts, and either could have been a bit more. Still, players get paid less when they were in the minors for part of the PY (Pirri). I was surprised Ennis didn't command a bit more, but maybe its because all of minutes last year were 4th line mins
Cousins is a slightly better contract than the Agostino and Gibbons contracts but he's not a goal scorer either

jeff veillette has said that a few times. He's one of the best sources for Marlies knowledge.
I think the issue was that his underlying metrics were abysmal, he just happened to kill it on the PP or something like that. And the Leafs wouldn't be using him on the PP, and then his 5v5 stats were all crap
Not quoting Jeff though, I cant remember what he said for sure

This roster doesn't have Marner on it. But ya if Marleau cant be traded they would end up losing Johnsson and Hainsy from this roster. Johnssons rights could be traded for something and maybe Hainsy would sign for less

PL is a 40 goal scorer. He's got two seasons in the 30s. He's gonna keep racking up goals in his career.
Marner has never even cracked 30.
I don't think the Jets do this. Marner brings other things to the table in his play and he's a good player, but putting the puck in the net is always something teams are looking for.</div></div>
Do you think the Jets would do a 1-for-1? I'm not suggesting it, but just wondering what their perspective of these two players is over in Winnipeg

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>I think the logic is flawed when you say the Leafs HAVE to trade Marner now because of the extension of Leafs in the future. Certainly Muzzin doesn't have to be extended and who know how good/what cap will be for Liljegren and others.
Having too many good players isn't bad. You can always trade someone for assets.
The Gaborik trade works if. Ottawa is paying out of pocket for at least some of LTIR. Leafs would still have to add a sweetener. Oilers might like that trade but you have to like Zaitsev for 5 years. Maybe just forget Puji and have Bracco, Korshov or Marchand on wing.</div></div>
What I mean is less about Marner, and more about salary in general. I don't think it works to have that much cash tied up in the top 6. You're right that they don't need to keep Muzzin, but the reality is that they need to pay their top4 defense. So if it isn't Muzzin, it will have to be some other Top4 D in the league who would want at least $4M+. Reilly is a big one, he might double his salary. Dermott is at least going up to $3M if he plays out this year as a top4 D
You're definitely right about Lijegren and Sandin, but I assume that they will at the very least cost more than their ELCs

Tavares and Matthews are both talented goal scorers but their point production has been about a 50-50 split between goals and assists. Matthews specifically said he wanted his assists to go up too

From the sound of things he is asking for way more than 10M. Maybe due to the cost difference they could mix the picks up or something. I tried my best to find out what people think Laine will accept but the internet is super torn on his value right now. I cap the winger at $8M, if Laine wants more than that I don't think we can afford him, OR Marner
