I'm pretty sure it's been done before. The trade would probably have to be done during the season before the TDL, and not during the summer immediately after CHI signs him. That would be the least suspicious situation. But yeah, do that. I would also like to know.

Los Angeles cap figures:
Current cap space: $2,338,333, but that includes 2 kids who go back to Ontario when Doughty and Walker are healthy
Add'l cap space: $1,582,500 (cap hits of Jordan Spence and Jacob Moverare, referred to above)
Actual cap space: $3,920,833
Mikey Anderson: $2.5 million or thereabouts
Sean Durzi: $1.5 million or thereabouts
Left over: Zero
Difference between Muzzin's cap hit and Kaliyev's: more than $4 million, so we don't even have to discuss how absurd thinking that we would trade Kaliyev for Muzzin is.

ngl that was so long i did not read all of it but you’re very correct, montreal fans undervalue PLD because they see him as a sure thing and overvalue suzuki who is good but not a superstar or anything. winnipeg should not under any circumstance accept montreal’s scraps in return and montreal should just wait to get him in UFA if he’s such a sure thing

Generous Dubois trade but not delusional
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hurricanes73</b></div><div>While you may think jets fans overhype Dubois, you are sure as hell overhyping every single piece you are trading. Dvorak is worth maybe a 2nd, and saying armia and Hoffman can be good is like me saying I can make the NHL. It can happen, probably won’t tho. Armia is a dump, and Hoffman is worth maybe a 4th, a 3rd on a good day. And from an outsiders view, Dubois is worth suzuki. Suzuki is worse advanced analytically and Dubois is more of a goal scorer. They almost had the exact same PPG where as Dubois GPG is much better. Defensively Dubois is worse but he is close. Dubois also plays a more sheltered role with his G/60 and A1/60 blowing Suzukis out of the water. All I’m saying is that if Dubois was playing in the situation suzuki is in, he would be damn near PPG. To claim suzuki is better is simply a wrong statement based on hometown bias. The reason the jets are asking for suzuki is because yes, Dubois is that good, to get suzuki 1-1 would be an undervaluing him slightly. So end of the day, you are overhyping your players and undervaluing the players you get in return so it leads to a ****storm of a trade which leaves everybody else pissed off. Please do your research bud</div></div>
My favorite part is when Canadians fans say Dubois is “overhyped” and “only willing to play for Montreal.” The overhyped part makes no sense since they keep making ACGM’s to acquire him. The part about Montreal may be true but we don’t know for certain. For all we know he just doesn’t like Winnipeg. Or he correctly believes that if he hits UFA in 2024 he will get a massive contract.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ht42</b></div><div>Lol.
1st, he will likely not sign the long-term contract with Winnipeg or any other teams execpt if the Habs have his signing rights.
2nd, his value will likely going down during the time until he will hit the free agency in 2024, because every GM's know that the only team that he want to play for are the Habs.</div></div>
who said long term? 2 years takes him right to UFA, he has no choice but to stay with the jets until 2024 unless they trade him anyway, so just avoid the two QOs thing and get him on the full deal now so they can retain.
people give up assets for one year rentals all the time. giroux only wanted to go to one team for one year and they still got a 1st and a prospect. PLD as a two year rental, especially if the jets retain some salary, can at minimum return what you have here, if not a better prospect with no cap dump.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ht42</b></div><div>Dvorack have a good value, Armia can be good and Hoffman can have a bounce-back season.
Personally, I think Jets fans overhype the real trade value of Dubois. He is not like Scheifele or Connor, but he is a great player but 100% not great enough to cost a top 10 pick or a Nick Suzuki.</div></div>
I wouldn’t compare him to Connor but he’s worth more than Scheifele. I don’t think you can trade 30 year olds who can “bounce back” for PLD. I don’t c it happening. If the guy needs to bounce back he’s probably a negative asset at this point.

First Try Minimal Change Roster Edit 1
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hurricanes73</b></div><div>O man I feel like a dick right now. I didn’t realize you were new new like that. I would like to welcome you to the community and apologize for my earlier comments. If you need any tips let me know. Congrats on the baby and always feel free the reach out. Sorry for being harsh, I didn’t realize you were so new, I would suggest don’t edit a team after you post it tho most of the time because it’s like publishing an unfinished product. I get you’re getting used to it so again I apologize.
Talking hockey- pretty decent value for chychrun (although maybe not with retention) and I love the idea of bringing back Nino. Overall the revised team looks good and I think the revision makes it a much better team. Sorry for thinking you were a troll at the start. Again, welcome to the community and if you ever need any help I am here for you.</div></div>
No worries, I’ve most likely responded the same way to people who have appeared probably the same way that I did on Reddit many times. Yes I am new, new like today 😂
Such a tricky place honestly with working with it all, biggest block for me is Necas and Bear right now:
I’m not sure where Necas would fit with our current team landscape. Hard to pinpoint our lines with a player like him with Staal pretty much holding down a line that is tethered to his play-style. Love Staal and what he has done for our team and the things he brings, but (may get crucified for it) I think our team has grown past him and his $6MM holds a lot of our ability to do more things back.
Bear I really do like, but getting COVID (apparently long at that) right after his injury really put a damper on his season and a lot of fans hopes. If we knew he was recovered I would likely include him on this roster somehow on 3rd pair. He was starting to play well on the system before that injury. I do think if we get him back a shorter bridge deal would be all I would offer, maybe the $2-2.5MM range.
Some other notes - I do actually like Skjei, but not $5.25MM worth. Unlike some fans I don’t see Suzuki coming into the NHL and making an impact, I would hope I’m wrong, but I just don’t see it at this point - I think the hype outweighs reality. Martinook may be slightly overpaid, and while his production isn’t great, I feel he gets too much hate. I am cautiously curious about what Kase can do. I think the demand for Nino is lower than he thought it was going to be so there may be a real chance he comes back if we want him.
I’m liking reading through the armchair-GM stuff right now because it’s another way I can chat with fans about thoughts, ideas, etc.

He wants opportunity to better his career, I don’t see linemates if Carter and puustinen being ideal for his performance. Kapanen should also be resigned. Maybe play rackell on the LW with malkin and having puljujarvi one the RW. Probably the only circumstance he is traded for</div></div>
Rackell-Malkin-Puljujarvi is interesting, though I question the fit a bit since Malkin doesn't shoot much at 5v5 and needs some shooters around him (by that measure, Zucker isn't exactly helping much either). Puljujarvi can really drive play though, which is why I thought he could help Carter.
Regardless, I think this is a good spot for him. Hextall and Burke want size and he's got it. I see a lot of Nichushkin there.
Not sure what to do with Kapanen though. He was horrible last year and likely will cost little to sign.

Leafs fan ACGM post starter pack
I’m older than almost everyone else on CapFriendly, so here’s what I would say to you kids in your formative years (i.e, anyone under 50) if anyone asked:
1. You never say “I love you” enough, let alone too much.
2. I never learned anything while I was talking.
3. If you try to will yourself to be happy, you may or may not succeed; but if you want to be UNhappy, you’ll succeed <strong>100%</strong> of the time. And as Bob Dylan said, failure’s no success at all.
I don’t always live up to these principles, but I sure wish that I could.
May you all have wonderful lives and wonderful wives.

This is what u love about the community, while we may not always agree, we always have that shared love for hockey making us a part of that community. This is why it is the best sport in the world.</div></div>
In my experience, the more a fan loves hockey, the less of a "homer" he becomes. For example, I was THRILLED to see former Ducks Andrew Cogliano and Josh Manson win a Stanley Cup this year. Which isn't a comment about me, but about their long devotion to a wonderful game. I even appreciated Kurtis MacDermid reaching the pinnacle, too.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hurricanes73</b></div><div>The difference is is that they don’t put a label on mid round picks that they will be the next NHL star. Every team has busts. We laugh at the leafs players who are “busts” because really they get overhyped and shouldn’t be considered busts but rather let downs. I’m super high on gleb trikozov. Am I labeling him as off limits and a guy who poses actual value in the NHL that could acquire NHL players? HELL NO! U can be high on a prospect and have them be a let down but the fact that the leafs cycle through a player being the next piece away from a cup to a let down to another guy being the missing piece. We laugh at you because you have overvalued your prospects much more than every other fan base and the only one that comes close to the leafs in terms of overrating the prospects is montreal but they at least have some dignity. I don’t see them trading Sean Farrell and a 2nd for a player who is actually good. This is something unique to leafs fans and that’s why we pick on you for it. The fact that bracco was supposed to be the perfect linemate for matthews and in the end I’m pretty sure he isn’t under an NHL contract is what we find funny and how he was “untouchable” according to leafs fans</div></div>
