The panthers first will be in the mid to late 20s. Essentially you are trading a good 3rd line center, two cap dump candidates, a late first and a fourth for Dubois. Montreal would have to move significantly more to get a deal done. Maybe Kirby Dach is part of the deal. Idk tbh.

the jets should sign PLD to as long of a contract as he’s willing to sign (i guess two years) and if they’re not competitive this year trade him at the deadline to the highest bidder. these are the types of offers you can get for guys at the deadline anyway not including the cap dumps so might as well wait

Dvorack have a good value, Armia can be good and Hoffman can have a bounce-back season.

Personally, I think Jets fans overhype the real trade value of Dubois. He is not like Scheifele or Connor, but he is a great player but 100% not great enough to cost a top 10 pick or a Nick Suzuki.

I can see a scenario where Drouin could work in a Dubois trade but Hoffman wouldn't.

I wouldn’t compare him to Connor but he’s worth more than Scheifele. I don’t think you can trade 30 year olds who can “bounce back” for PLD. I don’t c it happening. If the guy needs to bounce back he’s probably a negative asset at this point.

An expensive 3rd line and a late 1st isn’t doing it for me. Not enough quality

Lol.

1st, he will likely not sign the long-term contract with Winnipeg or any other teams execpt if the Habs have his signing rights.

2nd, his value will likely going down during the time until he will hit the free agency in 2024, because every GM's know that the only team that he want to play for are the Habs.

who said long term? 2 years takes him right to UFA, he has no choice but to stay with the jets until 2024 unless they trade him anyway, so just avoid the two QOs thing and get him on the full deal now so they can retain.

people give up assets for one year rentals all the time. giroux only wanted to go to one team for one year and they still got a 1st and a prospect. PLD as a two year rental, especially if the jets retain some salary, can at minimum return what you have here, if not a better prospect with no cap dump.

Not very likely Chevy accepts two cap dumps without compensation for Dubois.

While you may think jets fans overhype Dubois, you are sure as hell overhyping every single piece you are trading. Dvorak is worth maybe a 2nd, and saying armia and Hoffman can be good is like me saying I can make the NHL. It can happen, probably won’t tho. Armia is a dump, and Hoffman is worth maybe a 4th, a 3rd on a good day. And from an outsiders view, Dubois is worth suzuki. Suzuki is worse advanced analytically and Dubois is more of a goal scorer. They almost had the exact same PPG where as Dubois GPG is much better. Defensively Dubois is worse but he is close. Dubois also plays a more sheltered role with his G/60 and A1/60 blowing Suzukis out of the water. All I’m saying is that if Dubois was playing in the situation suzuki is in, he would be damn near PPG. To claim suzuki is better is simply a wrong statement based on hometown bias. The reason the jets are asking for suzuki is because yes, Dubois is that good, to get suzuki 1-1 would be an undervaluing him slightly. So end of the day, you are overhyping your players and undervaluing the players you get in return so it leads to a ****storm of a trade which leaves everybody else pissed off. Please do your research bud

My favorite part is when Canadians fans say Dubois is “overhyped” and “only willing to play for Montreal.” The overhyped part makes no sense since they keep making ACGM’s to acquire him. The part about Montreal may be true but we don’t know for certain. For all we know he just doesn’t like Winnipeg. Or he correctly believes that if he hits UFA in 2024 he will get a massive contract.

The problem is if a trade betwen Montreal and Winnipeg is make, the trade will likely like that.

Dubois isn't overhyped, Jets fans overhyped him because they didn't want to lost him, and that's a reflex for fans of every team for their players.

Don't forget people loves to underestimated Habs players by passion, like Slafkovsky calling him a ''bust''.

I wouldn’t have taken him #1 overall but he isn’t a bust. Every fanbase thinks they are persecuted to some degree. I don’t know that the habs r getting singled out here.

Personally, if Montreal taked Wright or Cooley at 1st overall, theses people will likely called their choice a ''bust''.

But pernsonally, I think the top 3 are the 3 best players of the draft in order. They make the best choice, they surprised the hockey community, but I think Slafkovsky's stats in LIIGA are why people call him a '' bust ''.
