well Gaudreau is fast, he can definitely skate, pass, and he does everything good. So does Scheifele but i wouldn't call Scheifele more of a game-changer. Scheifele, in my opinion, is better, but not by that much.

You can't even fairly compare them because they play different positions. It's like all those pre-2010 Ovechkin vs Crosby debates. They play different positions, have different responsibilities, and have different roles on their team. You can't give an answer because they aren't supposed to do the same job. Which is better, the Secretary of State or the POTUS? Impossible to answer these questions. Why even pose them?

It depends on what factors you use to consider as "value" in a trade.

Gaudreau has FAR MORE value if he was to be traded to any of the following teams (PHI, NJD, NYI)
Being a high profile guy from that area, he would not olnly bring the skills he has, but his marketing value to the franchise could be immeasurable given the potential for additional ticket sales, merch sales etc.

I would argue Schiffle is probably the better player, but Gaudreau has more value to an organization.

I understand that you're a Flames fan, but an elite, top 10 NHL center is far more valuable than the same as a winger. Would Philadelphia give more for Gaudreau than Scheifele simply because he's from the area? Absolutely not.

though i do agree that Scheifele has more trade value, wingers might be a bit more valuable than centres.
