I think Domi is a sure thing to get signed but it's your AGM so you build whatever team you want

I just don't see why Utah would do it. One year of Marner isn't worth all that. Utah just uses their cap to sign other UFAs and keep their assets. Of course why Marner waive to a non playoff team without a premier centre in his contract year?

They shouldn't, but there are stupid people out there...so you never know until you know. The hardest part is once you make the trade Marner/Dan Ferris has 110% of the leverage. He'll probably ask for $14M and why couldn't he? He'd just walk and you lost everything. It doesn't make any sense to trade away serious assets for Marner.

What good is 6OA to the Leafs? That player is probably 3 years away. And Marner of course has to waive.

It's good potentially( I know it's subjective) is that Leafs get 5.85m Schmaltz for two years and then have 6m to sign a RHD for five years instead of one year 11m Marner.
The picks are just a long term bonus.

you could maybe get 6OA similar to a debrincat deal the sens made, but shmaltz is far from a throw-in so utah would probably pass as-is
