Sens should decline. Not a Ferraro guy at all.

If San Jose is giving up young players and high picks to move up, it should be in next years draft and not this year imo

conceptually it’s not absurd, but like, still no. tbh I personally think that Ferraro has gotten the “overrated because he’s the only not awful player on the team” treatment, and the Sens have no need for him anyways

Not that I think Ferraro to the Sens makes a whole lotta sense with Chabot and Sanderson as the 1/2 on the Left side, but my god he's gotten so underrated. the narrative on Ferraro went from "leagues best kept secret" to "apparently the worst Blueliner in the NHL". He's very good and young and on a great contract, anyone saying he's legitimately bad are just looking at the stat sheet and and have never seen him play.

That Blues trade makes no sense for either side. Faulk is not a cap dump and SJ should not be offloading promising RHD

I think the opposite, he's become underrated because no one watches the Sharks and they've been garbage since he came into the league. He was hyped up in his first two years (rightfully so) so people now assume he's putting up really solid numbers, then they see a big minus number and low-ish point totals and think he's trash without actually watching the impact he has in actual games

San Jose can have the #7 pick for the #14 pick + Vegas' 1st in 2025.

You are much more likely to get better value on Mario Ferraro if you trade him elsewhere because Ottawa is not a good fit for him.

idk, perhaps it was a result on the entire team sucking the whole time, but I’ve never been remotely impressed by Ferraro in my viewings of him

Blues decline. Moving down just to get rid of Faulk makes little sense for us. We don't need to move him as we are not competing or in a cap crunch

This, and if we were to pay to move defenseman, Faulk wouldn't be the priority.

"Solid RD prospect" = 24 yo waiver pickup who likely tops out as a depth Dman

The Blues are not doing this abject foolishness.

Interesting, I thought he looked really good this year. 21 points on team that only had 8 players over 20 points is pretty decent for a guy who's not super offensive, and was top 10 in blocked shots despite missing some time.

Of course no one is going to look great when their team literally can't get a puck out of their zone or establish any zone time in the offensive zone (players with Lund in their name excluded). Also if you look at his FrozenPool pairings over the last two years, it's comical how many bad/mid d-partners he's had, a different guy on a nightly basis. Hard to find a lot of consistency in your play when that's the case.

for sure, I don’t think he’s *bad*, I “not remotely impressed” was probably an overstatement. and while I didn’t watch a ton of sharks games, I still watched a handful. but it’s more that in my viewings, I didn’t really see anything that suggested to me that he was anything more than a decent 2nd pairing defenceman. nothing particularly impressive, nothing awful, perfectly competent. and obviously competence wasn’t particularly common on the Sharks blueline this year, so he got the “nah he’s the only one who doesn’t suck” credit and it turned into “no he’s actually really really good”, which I think is too much.

I wouldn’t consider this for the Sens, but I’d be real happy for the Sharks if they were able to get a big return for him

That's fair, I don't see the fit for the Sens unless they were planning on moving Chabot AND Chychrun, in which case I think he'd be a great fit as that 2nd pairing LHD
