I don’t hate the deal for Trouba. But, I also find it to be unnecessary. Detroit could sign Pesce, probably for less money, or wait until the dust settles and NYR potentially is forced to buy out Trouba and then Detroit could sign him for much less.

Obviously just giving up Maatta and his $3m salary and taking on an Trouba’s $6.25m for the next 2 years is certainly something to think about however, I’d probably lean towards passing given the aforementioned reasons.
