I keep reading this, and I think it is a valid concern and definitely part of the risk factor in extending Konecny. That said, Gallagher could be an isolated situation, and the opposite side of the argument is that Konecny could age like another player of a similar style: Brad Marchand. To be clear, I am not taking the position that he will, but I think you may be assigning too much weight to the downside case. At some point, don't the Sabres need to push some chips in and go for it?
