That doesn’t get you Marner + the Leafs best defender and a promising offensive, cheap 3rd liner. & McLeod doesn’t move the needle enough to even consider Marner. Hell that whole package from Edmonton isn’t enough for Marner alone.

The trade is Marner for Nurse. Marner has only year, while Nurse has multiple years so the value is actually on Toronto's side.

Nurse is a 30 point defender that doesn’t get paid up PP time and is a defensive liability. He’s not worth that much.

Bourgault being a former 1st round pick means nothing. He’s not worth the value of a 1st just because he was drafted there, he might be a late 2nd round value at best.

& it’s kinda hard to argue that McLeod is a 3rd liner when he has 1 season over 23 points and has 0 points in 14 playoff games.
