Description

I think the projections for the UFAs/RFAs are fair, esp. for larger signings of Stephenson, Walker and Ned. Jarry is a top goaltender who would fit with the Kings defensively minded structure; keeping in mind Jarry's longer term, coming back would be the pick and Laferriere. Nieto and Kaliyev are essentially a swap. LAK seems to be down on Kaliyev. Pens pick up some younger talent, while taking less than market value on Jarry. I'm Sure Ducks fans will kick and scream about not getting enough for Zegras, but an off-season move is not unlikely, and ANA/PIT have worked well in the past. He is coming off a down year, ankle surgery and has been assigned with negative attitude and low work ethic labels. Pens would be taking a risk with acquiring Zegras, but may be similar to the Kessel deal with TOR. Ducks get another first rounder, POJ rights, several prospects and Reilly Smith who is looking for a bounce back season. Pens continue to fill out their roster with some younger talents.

LA looks to be the team taking the risk on two players who are on the downward trend for young players who can be signed at minimums with high upside.

Add to this the Kings goalie coach was fired by the Penguins because of how he handled Jarry's development, not sure there is a reunion in place there.

Pitt doesn't have the pieces for a Zegras trade. Three AHLers, a cap dump, and a first three drafts away aren't getting it done. Calling them prospects is charitable to say the least.

And where the hell is this "Bad attitude and poor work ethic" crap coming from? He's done as he's been instructed to do this season, coaching staff and management don't have a problem with him. And he broke his ankle, not had surgery. You're off in the weeds bud, come back to reality.

Let's see . . . a worthless AHLer, a worthless failure who went back to Europe and should stay there, a bottom-pair LhD who is worthless to us because we have five LhDs on the roster for next season already (at least three of whom are superior to POJ), a $5 million rental disappointment, and a first three drafts away.

This offer is so breathtakingly HoF awful that Verbeek would tell Dubas not to bother calling back, either with an improved offer for Zegras or on any other Duck.
