Not sure why you are replying to my post with that. I’m m not proposing moving him. Hawks are content to keep him despite him being overpaid.

Jones takes a lot of flack but he's the Hawks best d-man and they can't afford to part with him without backfilling with a workhorse RHD. Within the next few seasons I expect Jones to slide down the lineup as some of the prospects develop, which is a a great thing for the team. I'll take Jones on my 2nd pairing ever day.

Well, here's at least one Hawks fan who can put forth some semblance of a reasonable response, even though I disagree.

Jones will be 30 years old next season and is on a contract that pays him significantly above his current value. The Hawks are unlikely to contend for at least another four years, by which time the $8.7M in extra cap space could be allocated to a much better and younger player. Keeping Jones could hinder the team down the road. On the Leafs, he could provide three or four years of solid play during our Cup contention years, which is exactly what we need. While it's hard to gauge what a trade like this would actually entail, I think a trade involving Jones could be beneficial for both sides.

I would see a guy who rightly finds Jones the worst contract in the entire game of hockey.
