Dubas was awful. Rookie GM. In over his head. Arrogant and stupid, relied too much on analytics, made awful trades, overpaid his RFA stars, never got a number 1 goalie, hired a rookie AHL coach, built a soft D core. He was a horrible GM.

Yeah Dubas did that team wonders.

He was way better than Treliving. Treliving has made awful trades and signings and didn’t acquire a goalie either. He gave Reaves 3 years which is way worse than anything Dubas ever did

Reaves can be buried in AHL. His contract isn't burdensome. I agree he isn't a good GM. I lost faith in him when he traded Lafferty for a 5th. But Dubas was worse.

Treliving wishes he was even half as good of a GM Dubas is. Treliving is a bottom 5 GM while Dubas is probably a top 10 GM in the league right now

Leafs went woke, and now they've gone broke. Sad to watch. Berube might be able to fix this

Treliving would probably hire some way worse coach while he watches a team like Ottawa hire Berube. I have no confidence in him to make the right move

Muzzin was great for us before his injury
Marleau and Foligno moves were bad yes
Mrazek dump got us Minten so it wasn’t bad
Gio trade was worth it
O’Reilly trade was also good but Treliving couldn’t get him to sign back because he’s an awful GM

Meanwhile Treliving
Overpaid Nylander when he could’ve signed him for less than 10 million in the summer
Gave Matthews the money and term he wanted instead of getting one to favour the Leafs
Overpaid Kampf and Samsonov when that cap could’ve been much better spent elsewhere
Gave away Lafferty for a 5th so Reaves could make the team
Signed Klingberg
Traded for Edmundson and Lyubushkin who aren’t any good

Dubas brought in good players. Treliving brings in scrubs who can’t do anything just because they’re big

What this team and the front office in particular needs is a sports psychologist. Because "being tough" is way more important to them than winning games.
