Have just six NHL Dman? Kampf M NTC blocks that trade.

I might do that, rather have Right Shot Jarnkrok as 4C and PK Specialist than have Rooney or Duehr on the Roster.

He’d be an expensive, but good Centre for 4th line Wingers such as Pelletier, Coronato, Klapka. Schwindt, Greer & Hunt, till they proved themselves and we move on from one, two or 3 of our current Top-9 Wingers

Make it Rooney instead of Duehr and Calgary probably accepts. Toronto gains 800k (more like 1.6 mil if they bury Rooney) cap space in 24-25 2.1 mil in 25-26 and a depth player for 24-25 who can easily be buried in the minors at minimal cost in cap space.

Edit: Hunt would work for Calgary too and his full cap hit can be buried but I figured Toronto could use a depth player who can play center or wing more than a LW like Hunt.

Kampf has only 10 teams he’s not to be traded to without his consent and the other 21 he can be.. there’s no indication that Anaheim would be on his list and players actually waive to help facilitate trades all the time.

You always have this narrative that players won’t waive their NTC for trades.. it’s simply not true. Give it a rest.

He most certainly is. In fact he’s a utility forward that can be used to play all 3 forward positions

I think he’d be a good veteran mentor for our young guys, would add secondary scoring to that 4th line and he’s good at winning faceoffs, which I find to be super important, especially after an Icing and/or on the PK

Exactly. 2 years at 2.1 mil per won't cause any cap problems for Calgary, if anything it'll help them reach the floor next year. Jarnkrok's versatility would provide a nice buffer to insulate young forwards especially centers. We can try young players/rookies at center and if they struggle they can alternate with Jarnkrok at center and wing or even sit in the stands watching with a coach for a game or two to work on details.

No he isn’t. He hasn’t played centre at all in his time in Toronto, nor did he when he was in Calgary. He hasn’t played centre regularly since his time in Nashville. Just because a guy “can” play centre doesn’t mean he “is” a centre. If he was a centre then Toronto wouldn’t be using an AHL forward at 3C

He actually mostly played #3C in CGY during his stint here. He was centering Toffoli and Dube in the playoffs, and centering 2 of Mangiapane, Coleman and Dube during the regular season.

He was alright as a center and on the PK, but he was a bit snake bitten scoring his first goal as a Flame in the playoffs.

I liked Jarnkrok during his stay here, but barring trading out Mangiapane, and Coleman I don't think we have space in the bottom 6 for him to fit in.

Kuzmenko - Kadri - Pospisil
Mangiapane - Backlund - Coleman
Huberdeau - Zary - Sharangovich
Pelletier - Rooney - Coronato
Hunt, Duehr, Schwindt, Klapka, Greer(?)

I’d prefer Jarnkrok over Rooney for sure

Pospisil is an amazing agitator, but he’s not really a Top-6 Forward. Huberdeau could use a Speedy & Skilled RW’er so bring in Duclair for him, otherwise try Pospisil with him

Hard to imagine shipping out Mang or Coleman and breaking up that Mang-Backlund-Line. Pelletier, Coronato, Morton or Honzek would really have to prove themselves to push one of those guys out imo

It’ll come down to who wants to extend and for what, so we’ll see what happens with Sharangovich and Kuzmenko first and then see how well Mang plays as all 3 are only under contract for 1 more season. Mang isn’t worth $5.8mil, but he’s still an excellent two-way forward and Sharky & Kuzy will have to prove they can remain consistent and repeat their goal output and production next season

TOR is on its way to being bounced in the 1st Round of the Playoffs again, so can’t really consider their lineup choices to be sound. Why they’re using Holmberg at 3C is beyond me lol, I’d be using Domi or Jarnkrok or maybe even Marner there personally

I’d use Jarnkrok as a 3C or 4C no problem. I think he’d play just as well as Elias Lindholm did for us over the past 2 seasons = Not Great, but at just $2.1mil, he’d be fine enough.

Like @Bast said, he was just snake bitten in his first go with CGY, but it’s a different Coach and Team now, so let’s run it back again if he comes for little to nothing in return
