Hoo boy. The Flames are looking at moving Markstrom because they need the space; taking back Elvis completely sabotages that. And there's a lot of shiny in that Tkachuk trade but not nearly enough substance for it to work for the Sens, especially given that reports of his availability are greatly exaggerated. "You'll need to give up something that hurts" doesn't mean you combine quantity and quality and hope that does it; it means you need higher quality.

if you’re trying to trade for Brady, ask yourself the question “would I trade Adam Fantilli for this package?” and if the answer isn’t AT LEAST “maybe, but probably not” then don’t bother offering it for Tkachuk

Not even close for Brady Tkachuk, Patrik Laine has missed well over 200 games in the past 5 seasons. And the other offer is worthless as well.

At risk of piling on, I like this direction, but the values are off.

I like the idea of making a move for Brady, but if it doesn't include two of Fantilli, Jiricek, Johnson, and our first this year, it's not even a consideration for Ottawa. We can't get quality without giving up quality. Realistically, I'd give up Johnson and Jiricek, plus potentially a Chinakhov, but that would be contingent on picking ~3rd this year and having a good shot at landing Levshunov. Clears out the logjam of forwards, gets some quality now that fits the timeline, and also keeps a legit shot at a 1RD.

I don't have any interest in Markstrom, though, let Tarasov/Greaves and a UFA signing be the goalie tandem going forward.
