Georgiev sucks

"PULL THE GOALIE" "PULL THE GOALIE" "PULL THE GOALIE"

HOW HUMILIATING..

This team has no cap space and a returning Landeskog while resigning Drouin is a priority after his glow up in Colorado

Mesar is simply the type of player that Hughes and co. dont covet and it will be a decision between Mesar and Farrell to trade. They are trying to get bigger. Mesar has great speed and hands and would benefit from the Avs skill sets upfront much like Drouin. A pick between 25-32 much like the late picks in the Newhook trade are gold to a cap team with little futures atm.

Mitts is going to ask for 7 plus million which the Avs cant afford in any reality.

Think Montreal will go in a different direction, plus it’s a lot to ask from Montreal and plus they would have to agree to a contract. Think they will get someone under nicks contract #. Draft baby it will be exciting.

Markstrom.

Flames will take Georgiev and likely retain, depending on the return.

You have to retain! This team is trading away multiple pieces no matter what for cap space this offseason and filling holes. I think Merzlikins is a decent bet though.

The only reason I wouldn’t do this trade is I don’t think we can afford Mitts long term. That’s too many big contracts accumulating

Merzlikins feels like another Georgiev type move. Below .900 for two straight years. Really hasn't been the same goalie since the tragedy of Kivlenieks.

And, I love Struble but i know GMs also love him. Guy is a mean bast@rd and the ELC contract is gold! Habs have probably 12 NHL caliber D coming to training camp with Mailloux, Reinbacher and Hutson looking for spots.. Someone is leaving. They need to give the kids an opportunity to earn a spot. I hope its Barron that goes as he will require waivers this season before going down to the minors.
Mesar is also a big piece but i always overpay. I really doubt the Avs can get this much with little leverage. Everyone knew at the TDL that they couldn't afford Mitts long term. They plugged a hole and they'll continue to do it much like the Vegas Golden Knights. That should be the cap model with top heavy teams. The cap isnt going up that much YET!

It's a massive cap crunch for the Avs this offseason, Panthers and Rangers as well.

I think the Avs would rather swap Harris in for Mesar since they would have 37 yo Johnson as 3LD, I think it also makes sense for the Habs to include both Harris and Struble since it helps clear the logjam at LD. I also think swapping the Jets pick for the Flames pick makes sense for the Avs as well since they don't have a 1st next year, it also makes sense for the Habs cause we are likely gonna try to start competing and using the 1st to acquire a Mitts type of player helps that.

This might be the most positive ACGM that I've ever made despite calling multiple trades at the 2022 TDL and getting called every name in the book along that same thread.

Must be a sweet spot during the playoffs. Post during the game so homers don't lurk and most of the forum is only focused on said teams.

I think it helps that the main trade is focused around a team that just got 7 goals posted against them tonight lol

They'll keep Mitts & bump up NK51, meaning they only need to trade one of: Colton, Manson, or Girard to fit Landy. That's it. CMac has commented the roster screams out for cheap deals. Drouin is gone. They have cheap, internal options to fill out the regular season roster & can rent for the playoffs if needed.

The biggest offseason goal is go dump Georgiev & get a suitable tandem partner for Annunen for the year. Blackwood or Nedjelkovic.

I expect they are cautious with Captain & start him on LTIR. They can wait for things to shake out before making a trade to activate him. One thing the Avs have shown: they will be patient & not make panic moves nor commitments, & keep flexibility until there's a deadline.

You are also getting cheap deals from Montreal so that wouldn't change the narrative here, Landeskog wont be put on LTIR every year so that Mitts problem and contract would just be pushed forth another year for more decisions but I digress.

For max retention on Elvis we're going to need back a bit more than a less-than-half-a-round pick upgrade and a replacement buyout case. We'd be better off just buying out Elvis ourselves.

The thing is, Bednar COULDN'T pull the goalie. The backup was a minor leaguer from young-bee who doesn't have a single minute of NHL experience.

There's no way he was going to toss him onto the ice.

As a contender, that's the name of the game. You play one season at a time & worry about the next season later.

It will be very interesting to see what they do, along with the Panthers and Rangers. I'm especially interested to see what happens with Sam Reinhart.

Thank God for the Oilers otherwise I would be dying to see the offseason at this point. The Eastern playoffs are bad thus far. They should call this... simply, the Western Playoffs, and not the Playoffs.

I'm interested to see if Georgiev can keep the Jets under five goals tonight!
