This trade could make sense. Are they retooling or rebuilding? The reason they trade Buch doesn’t have to come down to age, it might be because he doesn’t want to sign with them long term. Armstrong said he’s going to sit down with him and see if he wants to sign an extension.

You are comparing 2 very different situations. It's comparing apples to oranges. Since Parayko is already in STL, they don't have to give up anything.

He essentially said the Blues need a top pairing shutdown defenseman, they already have it in Parayko. I’m not convinced that is what the Blues are looking for when trying to upgrade their defense. They probably want another guy who is good defensively, but that can be had in free agency or a smaller trade.

I don’t see why they wouldn’t want one of the best offensive defenseman in the league in Matheson, but you can tell me why not if you know.

Matheson is not 2 way, really good offensive season but still at -26 and we dont know if he can do it again
