Habs don't have any cap issues, they could bury Anderson with no impact to their salary structure and happily keep 5-6 overall.

Montreal doesn't care about moving Anderson's contract and St. Louis' pick is way to low for Montreal to consider this trade. Hard pass.

Nobody but op suggested the Habs should consider this. What you're missing is the Blues perspective. They're not taking a 3x5M drag they don't have room for in a pick swap. It is possible for both teams to scoff. Especially around here.

This would make sense if the Habs were desperate for cap space. Maybe if they add a big free agency signing or trade acquisition, but as it stands, it doesn't really work.
