His value is easily at an all time low and will not get better. Best to dump him now before it costs a guy like Jarvis or Necas to dump

Lol. Not a chance.

His buyout will be 1% or less of the cap

If I were in charge of the Caps I would offer a 3rd round pick and TVR for KK. Better than giving away Marrow and picks.

Arizona or San Jose would be smart to grab him super cheap.

Gotta hit the cap floor and maybe it clicks.

Some Carolina fans on here have argued that he has great underlying numbers, drives the play for his line and has a lot of "tertiary assists" (those assists where two other people touch the puck before the actual goal scorer puts the puck in the net are crucial)...........

The healthy scratches are probably to make sure that he is well rested for the playoffs where he will be excellent........

Has anybody checked on @caniac2000 lately to make sure he's doing OK?

I lean towards agreeing with this, but it would need a very deep dive from the pro scouts beforehand.

As alluded to by others, a buyout is long but not crazy expensive, which is a factor that makes me think they should go for it. I can see the argument against it too though.

As a Habs fans, it's a better option for your team to buyout him instead of that trade.

lol no chance. More likely the Canes buy him out since it’s so cheap. No way in hell they’re parting with Morrow or even a 1st to dump him.

Taking Savard while dealing KK only clears a little over a million. Not worth taking next to nothing for Necas for that little cap relief. They can fit both Necas and Guentzel under the cap with a KK buyout anyway.

They won't have to buy KK out, he's young enough another team definitely takes a chance on him

I could definitely see a team like San Jose or somewhere else with plenty of cap space and ice time opportunities taking a chance on him for cheap.

Huh? 2 1rst B prospect 4th line depth 13th fwd and a vet
Can 50% on savard or armia

And your telling me it takes a 1rst (25-32)
A 2nd (57-64)
A B+ rhd prospect morrow
And a young center who has potential?

Is a better deal then sending necas suzuki and kk
For a top 4 puck eating defender or defensive 3rd liner
Depth forward in pinard who can play all over the lineup and pk. Ylonen whos basically just a swap for suzuki who havent done much with their careers and maybe relocation helps.
B prospects in barron or kidney (barrons pretty much nhl ready just a few defensive structures need to learn)
And 2 first anywhere from 12-32 cgy definitely wont be a bottom 10 team so top 10 protection isnt even bad

And how much do you even think necas cost
Savard 50%
2 first
kidney
can prob get it done

Ylonen pinard for kk and suzuki
Is the exact same value as kk is expensive and value goes down.

My bad tbh I didn’t read the 2 firsts. It’s not a horrible package, but a little underwhelming. I figure the canes would be looking for more of a young, cheaper replacement for Necas. It would largely depend on what those assets could be flipped for. Again, my bad I kinda misread the package lol.

Necas does not return that much. Comps don't justify it
