Trade him, and I take this. We essentially re-coup the 3rd we paid for him, and get a former 1st-rounder (who is waivers exempt for three more season) with some potential as a M6 guy for the trouble.

He's solid, but he was signed to appease Babcock. I'd love him if he were on a 3-4 year deal, but at 8 I want to punt him. Easy enough to fine a vet B4 RD to replace him for a few years.

Anaheim needs a #1 RW, not a middle-6 rental LW who'll be 31 a quarter of the way through the season when we have Zegras, Vatrano and Gauthier on that side.

I agree, and trading him actually becomes essential if we land Levshunov in the draft IMO. But, his NTC makes that nigh impossible until 2027...I think Severson says no outright.
