Jarry + (back up) 24-25
Jarry + (Cossa back up) 25-26
Cossa + (Vet back up) 26-27 (Jarry traded or is back up)

I'm personally not opposed to acquiring Jarry but the prices people think they are getting for him are ridiculous. Just for that alone we probably stay away. Rather go for Merzlinkins as he should be cheaper to acquire.

Would DET do Husso + Voleno + 2nd for Jarry + Acciari + 4th?

Petry buyout doesn't save much, might as well have him as 7th D.
Husso maybe, but I think he has the ability to bounce back. Still need a replacement goaltender. I like throwing the idea of a Husso - Merzlinkins swap.
Holl yes, he's likely a buyout candidate.
Copp no. Still need someone to play a bit of defensive hockey although I haven't seen enough of him lately to see if he is excelling in that aspect. That was the best trait of his game in Winnipeg, the offense was just bonus. He is also one of our best face-off guys in a team that isn't that good at draws. Then the term of the buyout really isn't great. Going to need someone to help shelter Danielson, Kasper and the other young players that could see time in the future here.
I don't think Guentzel would be the answer. I would be more focused on upgrading the defense. Signing Matt Roy or Brett Pesce would really go a long way in that regards. Maybe a couple more physical forwards, with strong work ethics and strong defensive metrics. Dakota Joshua, Yakov Trenin are two players I like.
I haven't watched much of the games lately but I'm not thinking Edvinsson is ready for top pairing minutes. I don't think ASP could jump to the NHL yet, would like to see him get a year in Grand Rapids next season.
I would also like to see Mazur and one of Danielson or Kasper on the team next year. I believe Danielson might be eligible for the AHL next year which wouldn't be a bad thing for him I think.

Hard to say, it's not ridiculous. Acciari is just an older version of Veleno and likely declining where Veleno is improving.

For instance if you want to trade Olli Maatta it'll cost a 2nd round pick and your best prospect.

And you'll get back future considerations.

Trade Fabbri?

It'll cost you your actual life. 🤭

This roster isn't close to being the final product. Edvinsson, Seider and Raymond are the only players drafted by Yzerman on the roster so far. Then add Larkin, Rasmussen and Veleno and that is 6 players drafted by Detroit on the roster. There is a direct connection between players drafted and developed within your own system and sustained success. I've been saying it all season players on the backend like Holl, Chariot, Petry, Maatta and Husso are merely place holders and the front end you have Fischer, Sprong, Fabbri and Czanik. I think Perron and Ghost were signed that way as well but have had a resurgence and if Yzerman can sign them cheap enough he probably keeps them for a couple of more seasons. Look at TB they been a contender for a quite a while and they were in far better shape when Yzerman took over than Detroit was. Have some patients and remember one of the main reasons this is taking as long as it is was from 25 seasons of buying at the TDL.

I'm sorry but as good as Guentzel is he isn't a smart signing for Detroit. They need another good RHD a lot more, so using some of the money to sign Roy makes a lot more sense.

Yzerman was lucky enough to have a young Stamkos and Hedman already in Tampa when he started.

Look at the teams they play on Grand Rapids has a lot better talent in it than Iowa. A good team helps that out. Wallstadt and Askorov are considered the best goalie prospects right now so I don't see how you are thinking Cossa is a better goaltender.

Cossa underatted and Wallstedt overrated🤔

No chance, have you seen them play in person? Wallstadt looks like he is going to be a Franchise goalie. The real overrated young goaltender is Levi in my opinion. Saw him play a couple times and was not very impressed

The only player on your buyout that's remotely realistic is Justin Holl, The rest we are stuck with like it or not.

A franchise goalie who got lit up in his first pro game, And FYI Cossa beat Wallstadt in every game he played against him this year in the AHL.

The lack of understanding is quite obvious when you look at the titles of the ACGMs people use hockey terms and phrases and when you look at their ACGM it's clear they have no idea what the term or phrase means or the ACGM is a complete fantasy. Patients also plays a big part.

His UFA signings can be questionable though.

At the start of the season I was 100% in on believing that and it part of the reason why I thought the Wings would finish 7th in the Atlantic. But with this being their best season in 8yrs, I'm rethinking some of the bad signings weren't that bad. I still think some of those signings are still questionable just not as many.

The first NHL game should not be the standard that you are going off. Askorov got lit up in his first, Wallstadt did, Markstrom did, Saros did, Sorokin did, what is your standard because all of those goalies are at least elite

How is it underwhelming? This is the best team and the most fun season we've had in at least 10 years. That is all credit to the guys on the ice, the coaches, and the guy building the roster. They probably won't make the playoffs, as expected, but there's plenty to be excited about. At the end of the day it comes down to luck and whether your prospects develop as you hope. If they don't there's really nothing you can do but try again.

Look at Buffalo, CBJ, Ottawa, Minnesota, etc. Teams with far more "talent" than us and further along in their rebuilds but behind us on the ice. That is underwhelming.

its underwhelming being in a wild card with a big gap then going on a 7 game losing streak and being 3-6-1 in our last 10.

LMFAO Cossa will not be the starter. He is not at all what the Wings thought he would be (hence drafting Augustine). I can see Cossa potentially becoming the back up in a couple more years but I cannot see him finding his groove that much to become the starter on the wings. I still can't believe he passes on Wallstadt for him
