I don’t think you’re hearing what we’re saying. We don’t want or expect anything for Zegras, because we want and expect him to stay in ANA, just like every reliable piece of news has reported.

You’ll be hard pressed to find any ANA fan proposing a Zegras trade, and something like 90%+ of ACGMs proposing otherwise are from MTL fans.

As a player we don’t want, expect, or need to move, what would it take for ANA to consider it? Thats where one of Slaf, Rein, or the ‘24 MTL 1st would be non-negotiable. Not interested? Awesome, that makes two of us. Take it up with your fellow Habs fans who can’t seem to let the idea of Zegras go 🤷‍♂️

I never said Ducks fans wanted, needed or expect to move Zegras. I only said that Zegras doesn't have the kind of value you are expecting back in a trade. But since Caufield didn't play 14 games this season struggling with an injury that eventually placed him on the LTIR list for 6 weeks, I expect the little guy to equal Trevor's record in the next 6 games.

Caufield plays defense better than Zegras, there is more to hockey than being flashy all the time, eventually if he wants to be a core peice, he is gonna need to learn how to play in his own end

To acquire a 22 year old club favorite that isn’t available for trade, it costs a significant piece to convince that team to move him

MTL has 3 pieces they might consider moving (all unlikely) for Zegras that ANA might consider accepting (also unlikely). One of those pieces is the ‘24 MTL 1st

If the season ended right now, MTL has a 0% chance of 5OA. They have >50% of 7th/8thOA.

Zegras > Caufield (granted it’s close, but Z is a 6ft center with 2 60+pt seasons. Caufield is a 5’7 winger who maybe gets his first 60pt season this year)

Who said I was upset? You said the proposed trade has to drop Dvorak and add Mesar for it to be considered, that is what I am disagreeing with you about. You proposed Mesar and the Habs 1st which in all likelihood given strength of schedule and record over the last 10 games is gonna finish at 5th OVA. I am telling you flat out that the Habs aren't offering 5th OVA + Mesar cause it's too much of an overpay, Habs aren't gonna offer 5th OVA alone for Zegras since that would likely return one of Demidov, Eiserman, Levshunov or Lindstrom who all have equal or higher ceilings to Zegras but most also play defense as well.

Yes, MTL 1st and Mesar is the value needed for ANA to consider it from my and many others’ pov (this is not news, this has been debated in legitimately 200+ MTL ACGMs over the past 3 months). I don’t care if you think that’s unrealistic, this whole pretend ACGM is unrealistic. That’s the unrealistic value needed for this unrealistic trade to occur on this fantasy trade board 😂

Even if MTL gets passed by ARI, it’s less than 42% chance to be 5thOA or better. Most likely to be 6th (44%).

It’s typical that ~30% of top 10 picks bust or perform way below expectations. We know what Z is, and we love/need what he brings. Demidov, Lindstrom, and Levshunov are probably all gone before MTL makes a pick, but that’s just my guess
