Schmidt is bad and a waste of 5.9mil, especially as Ellis is on LTIR

That defense just is poor. Drysdale on RD3? Belpedio? Investing almost 11mil in Schmidt and Walker?

Jarnkrot? Zegras isnt a C, hes more of a LW. Youre going to play 3rd/4th line muckers Jarnkrot/Joseph/DiGiuseppe/Lycksell over any number of younger better guys?

Yopu've made alot of moves to move up in draft and then turn around and trade 3 1sts, a 2nd rights to Zavagrin and 3 players for Zegras? Thats a laughably OVER offer.

No Andrae, Tuomaala, Attard, but Belpedio, and a bunch of muckers?

Not buying out Johansen and Petersen and wasting almost 7mil in cap by keeping them in minors?

Just not sure what youre doing, trading alot of fairly young assets and picks for middling players and then going all in on Zegras? Seems like a lot of muck and downgradesd across the entire team just to get your hands on Zegras. If Zegras at 5.7mil for 2 yrs is worth that package he must be MacDavid.

Schmidt can be 50% retained and flipped at the deadline for assets. If Andrae shows he is ready he can come up then.

Jankrok is a cap dump to help inflate Laughtons price. And that D core is the same we had this year minus Zamula and Staal for Schmidt and Belpedio. Di Guiseppe and Lycksell are 13th and 14th forwards. You really want to call up younger players to ride the bench??

Zegras Center stats in his first two seasons put him in elite company. Only a handful of centers, which is what he played his first two years, have put up two 60 pt U22 seasons, and they all turned out to be elite. Zegras trade is a lot of assets. None of them are Top 10 picks though.

Why would you buy out Peterson and waste cap space the following year when you don’t need the space this year and you could bury him in the minors? We already will have enough dead cap in Hayes, Atkinson, and possibly Johansen. Do you want to end up in Minnesotas cap situation? Seems like a smart strategy.

sens aren't gonna downgrade players so they can downgrade picks. I could only see them trading down if both Levshunov and Parekh are not there with their own pick. However, you could send us that BUF package for Jakob Chychrun

Jets won't want to go into LTIR by getting Ellis. They can buyout Schmidt or send him somewhere with a late 2nd round pick if they really want the cap space.

I get the idea but honestly, the difference between 6th OA and 9th OA is pretty substantial in this draft, and I'm really not convinced that this season of "not bad" isn't an outlier for Risto

And for that reason, Anaheim's not interested in the trade. Quality assets, not quantity.

For the record, Schmidt isn't bad, his contract is. He's a good 3rd pair D with good defense metrics.

That's a freakin horrible trade for WPG. Trading the last year of a bad (yet serviceable) contract for three years of dead LTIR weight? Wtf.

Any time you throw 7 assets for 1 you know you’re in fantasy world. Premium assets only, not quantity. Wipe it and try again for ANA. Zegras isn’t on the table, you’d have to blow away ANA to get him. I doubt PHI is willing to do that
